Range gear has a use and isn't alway just some fancy thing to show off. the use of single loading devices in the M-1 is about safety as not to drop the bolt on a loaded chamber. Spotting scopes are abundant these days and there isn't any reason to go out and spend a lot of money on one for your use. Shop around and save your money for loading components. a cheaper scope has all the features you need.
