This is a 22 card deck from France from 1897.
Even though there’s only 22 cards, each card has about 11 different. meanings depending on which cards are placed left and right of it.
The original vintage art is free to download, but doesn’t fit any print on demand services templates, so I traced and recolored the art to fit that. The original back design was gorgeous, but I took the liberty to replace it with something else.
Then I had to translate all the French text to English. Which wasn’t hard, but I had to cross reference with Dutch for some nuances that differ from French to English. And while the process was tedious, I did grow to love this little deck even more. The language used is very camp, old fashioned and dramatic.
Currently ordering a printed version to finally be able to work with it. The deck is very fortune teller-esque and some of the meanings are very doom and gloom, but they’re fun.
