Even before Facebook went down on Monday, I have thought about this a lot in terms of people that have been BANNED from these sites. So they just don’t have any access to the communications and economy infrastructure??? Because that’s what the internet, and many of these internet products that are extreme drivers of commerce like Amazon and Facebook, are now.

I feel like this highlights the improbability of one company having such a monopoly over communication, economy, and commerce. Or if it is going to have it, it should be treated as such (as utility with a right to access and as communications infrastructure/tool), rather than as 'entertainment' or a simple 'social media platform' that is largely unregulated. A ‘social media’ company shouldn’t have the power to take down entire sections of communication/commerce/economy when it goes down like this.
