There are over 265 museums and public collections in Iceland, which is nearly one for every ten people in a population of only around 330,000 people. A Kendra Greene takes us on a whimsical and otherworldly journey through the mythic creatures, natural wonders and curiosities ranging from the Icelandic Phallological Museum, which collects the penises of every mammal known to exist in Iceland, to the metaphysical, like the Museum of Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft. Join her online as she guides us gently through these arcane collections of what she terms ‘untold wonders’.

About the author: A Kendra Green is a writer and artist; she lives in Dallas, Texas, where she is a visiting assistant professor at the University of Texas, a guest artist at Nasher Sculpture Center, and an associate editor at Southwest Review. Her wide range of experience and interests encompass photography, art and natural history. The Museum of Whales You Will Never See is described as a work not of cataloguing and curating, but of longing and love.
