The story kicks off when a massive, fiery meteor violently streaks across the night sky, crashing directly into the isolated desert badlands outside a small, unsuspecting Arizona town. What the locals initially mistake for an ordinary space rock quickly reveals itself to be a highly advanced, hostile UFO. Stranded right in the creature's immediate hunting grounds is an incredibly bizarre mix of people: a couple of young lovers out for a getaway, a group of unsuspecting weekend campers, an alcoholic battling his own demons, and a pair of ruthless runaway convicts who are actively fleeing the law. To make matters worse, a local police officer trying to handle the chaos gets pulled straight into the crosshairs.
