Thrash Lab's Subculture Club series explores the culture of craft beer and the growing homebrewing community (video - bit.ly/NgWQzJ). Watch as Simon Ford (homebrewer and beer blooger) gives us an overview of a 10-step homebrew process.
The Homebrew Process:
1. Heat water
2. Transfer water to "mash tun"
3. Add crushed grains
4. Wait for conversion
(if you want dryer beer you mash lower, sweeter beer mash higher)
5. Sparge
6. Boil wort (the boil length depends the style of beer you are making)
7. Add hops
8. Cool beer
9. Add to fermenter/ Add yeast
10. Then you wait (average 1-2 weeks)
