Padma Shri awardee 2026 Guru Sangyusang Pongener (81 -year-old) of Ungma village, Mokokchung district returned home to Dimapur on June 25, 2026, after receiving the prestigious award from President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, honoured for his six decades of dedication to Ao-Naga folk arts and traditions. Awaiting his arrival at the airport were members of Ungma Senso Telongjem Dimapur, Ongpangkong Senso Telongjem Dimapur, Tongpok Semchir Pongen Mungdang Dimapur, Ungmatsür Senso Telongjem Dimapur, Soyim Students Union Dimapur and Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur, alongside his loved ones and well-wishers who turned up to welcome him back home.
