In June 2018, global experts and policy-makers converged at the University of Calgary to chew over the complex dilemma of unhealthy diets — a leading risk factor for death and disability in this country.
The free, two-day food policy forum was presented by the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta and the O'Brien Institute for Public Health in advance of the new Canada food guide, which was unveiled January 22, 2019.
This is the third of seven videos from that event: Food Policy in Canada.
Speakers in this video include Dr. Aleem Bharwani, MD, policy lead for the O'Brien Institute for Public Health; Dr. Mary L'Abbe, chair of the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto; and Kenton Delisle, senior policy lead of Nutrition, Health & Wellness Promotion at Alberta Health.
