Another Mega Man fangame? Well, why not. This one is for the X series, though. Specifically, this one is a reimagining of Mega Man X6, basically "what if Mega Man X6 actually got polished up and refined". Mega Man X6 was actually my favorite X game at one point, believe it or not, and this is different enough from the original that it's pretty much a new game, so I am here for it. The game has not been finished yet; the version that I'm showing off here today is a beta and only includes five stages. Assuming that it does get finished, though, I definitely want to play the full game on my channel. I'm basically doing this first look to spread awareness of the game, so if you're hyped about it, follow the creators (Cat Yard Games) and their development progress. Or don't; I'm not your parent.
In any case, I'm not showing off the entire demo, just the intro stage and Commander Yammark's stage (and a lot of story cutscenes). Though his original stage was one of the better ones in the original X6, the revamped stage is undeniably better, being longer, not having blind drops in the cave part, and having an all-new underwater section (hey, it is the Amazon Ruins, and what's the biggest river in the world?). Commander Yammark himself (or as I like to think of him, "Drone Dragonfly", because no, the Maverick names still aren't localized) is actually a significantly more intricate boss fight than he was in the original MMX6, with new attacks and a good bit more challenge. His secondary area―or whatever they're called now―is now accessible without needing any upgrades, and it has a heck of a lot more going on than the original one did. The boss fight against Nightmare Zero actually gave me quite a lot of trouble, not least because in this game, you don't start with any armor. With the help of a Sub-Tank found in the regular stage, though, I managed to take him down eventually.
I had a lot of fun with this, and I eagerly await the full version of the game.
