As a media analyst, I have always wondered what the fundamental differences are between different mediums of telling a story. What kinds of narrative style do we expect from film that we don’t get from books or plays?
I decided to go on a quest to figure this out via consuming every single Gatsby adaptation I could get my hands on (the final count was 10, plus my in-depth research on about 6 more) which included taking a train to New Jersey. And then I put my findings into this video because there was no way I was doing that without dragging you all along with me on the ride.
