We're bringing the 19th century to life with a recreation of a working-class woman's shabbat dress. While we don't have photos or patterns from this era, I was able to piece together an approximation of what her dress may have looked like using historical references, and @Ora_lin infused my research findings with creative flair for the final image I used as a reference in constructing this dress. This week's episode of The Clothes On Their Backs delves more into the art and science of historical costuming and fashion history.
