Lance gets roped into the whole "Edward's wife is back as a ghost but he wants to fully revive her" thing, and knowing how much it's destroyed Ed (the dude had a long guilty venting session about it), he figured he should make the ghost disappear and put an end to this for good.
There's only one way to do that, and that is to tell them how they died. Ed's been dead silent about it, so Lance's only option was to dig up Emmy's autopsy report, which Ed also did his best to bury as much as possible. He shows it to the ghost and it... doesn't work. He doesn't know what that means, but now he's gotta deal with the whole angry ghost snapping at him situation. Oops.
