Chicago Humanities Festival | A Conversation with Playwright V (Eve Ensler) @ChicagoHumanitiesFestival | Uploaded July 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
Tony Award-winning playwright of the theatrical phenomenon The Vagina Monologues, V (formerly Eve Ensler) sits down for an unflinching conversation about her newest, deeply personal work, Reckoning. On her travels from Berlin to Oklahoma to the Congo, V has spent her life spearheading global movements to end homelessness, the climate disaster, and especially violence against all women and girls. At CHF, V will sit down with author Rebecca Makkai (I Have Some Questions for You: A Novel) to help us all learn how to create change, survive love, and connect to our greater purpose. The conversation will address the meaning and critical importance of personal and political reckoning in a country that is being controlled and destroyed by its past.
This program is supported by the Doris Conant Endowment for Programs on Women in Culture.
