In this conversation, our Spiritual Formation Director, Blake Zimmerman and his wife, Sydney, reflect on lament and how God meets us in seasons of grief, pain, and unanswered questions.

Looking back on the larger context behind Blake’s message on Psalm 42 from 2021, they share how lament gives us language to bring our anger, sadness, confusion, and honest prayers directly to God.

Lament is not a formula to rush through or a silver lining to force; it is an invitation to tell the truth in God’s presence, trust His goodness, and learn to watch for how He shows up. Through their story, Blake and Sydney remind us that God is real, God is good, and even when we are asking, “Where are You?” resurrection and hope are found in Jesus.

About Church on the Move:
We are a family of churches in northeast Oklahoma. Our mission is to introduce people to the real Jesus. A lot of people know about Jesus but have yet to experience the life-changing power of His grace and truth. Knowing Jesus has transformed our lives, so our goal for each of our worship services, from our kids’ environments on up, is to help people know that same love.

We actively pursue Jesus in everything we do and we believe He’s given us a vision for a church that is deeply centered on Him and His word.
