China just hit a milestone: a consumer-grade humanoid robot for only $1,400.
Beijing-based Noetix Robotics unveiled Bumi, a 94 cm tall humanoid priced at ¥9,998 ($1,400), the first high-performance humanoid in China to dip below the ¥10,000 mark.
Bumi weighs 12 kg, runs 1–2 hours on a 48 V battery, and can walk, run, and dance. It also supports drag-and-drop programming for kids and voice interaction for education and companionship.
This sub-Â¥10k price point could mark the shift from lab-grade demos to mass-market consumer robots in China.
