80 meters tall, 88 meters wide, and weighing the equivalent of 1000 elephants 🐘: the dome of our Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) is under construction in the Atacama Desert 🏗️. Once completed, the ELT will be a 21st-century Colosseum for science.

The ELT will delve into some of the most fascinating mysteries of the Universe, studying exoplanets 🪐, black holes ⚫️, galaxy formation and evolution 🌀, and so much more!
