How many cocktails do you know that use Branca Menta? As delicious as it is, you don't see it in many cocktails.
Libation Goddess Audrey Saunders is most well known for opening Pegu Club in Manhattan. She has also created a number of contemporary classics for which, in my opinion, she could and should be more well known for. Today I'm making the Good Night Irene, a lesser known but stunning cocktail by Ms. Saunders.
Good Night, Irene
1.5oz/45ml bourbon
.75/22ml Branca Menta
And no, you do not have to use over the top bourbon for this drink to work. Any mid-priced offering will work. FWIW, the recipe that was given to me prescribed Buffalo Trace.
