In this film, I explore the London locations that shaped A Christmas Carol, following Dickens’ footsteps through streets, markets and institutions that fed directly into the world of Scrooge, Bob Cratchit and the ghosts of Christmas.
Joined by an expert, I look at where Dickens lived, where he worked, and how the city around him — its wealth, poverty, noise and humanity — found its way into one of the most famous Christmas stories ever written. From the City of London to the streets that inspired his characters, this walk shows how Dickens observed people, places and everyday life, then turned them into fiction that still resonates today.
