Just after takeoff in South Carolina, an American Airlines Boeing 737 headed to Charlotte hit a flock of birds, and flames could be seen shooting out of one of the engines. The pilot issued a Mayday, turned the plane around, and landed safely with all 172 passengers unharmed. What got Bobby was the passenger video: as flames pour from the engine, you hear someone calmly ask "is that normal?" and someone else chuckle "nope." The casual reaction in a genuinely terrifying moment is something else.
