Hey Folks, welcome back to the channel. I hope you enjoy my newest guitar jam track, '"A Better Way Than This". This one is in the key of C# Minor and has a nice rhythmic groove and nice upbeat feel and has a tempo of 90bpm. This one is pretty basic and just has a few chords but does have a little turnaround. This one is pretty much all the Godin, including the bass line this time around as a midi. This one has a different kind of middle section and quite honestly, not sure I fully pulled it off but it is what it is. It's a fairly short one but there should be plenty of room for some runs.
This one is pretty simple in terms of structure, with it moving initially between the C# Minor / G# Minor / F# Minor 7 a total of 4 times, and then turning around with the the same basic structure for the turnaround, but with a different rhythm/emphasis. This might be a good track for folks who want to practice solos over a song with a few chord changes in chords that span outside of the normal cowboy chords.
Creation Time: This one took about 6 hours total including video production time. I started this one a long time ago and back burnered it, started it/stopped it again several times and here we are. Added the new middle section, not sure if it really fits though to be honest, opinion as always as welcome!
What is my process: I usually start by trying to select a cool drum track and after that go from there. Usually, Bass lines go next, but it just depends on how I am feeling. Sometimes, I already have a melody in my head and just try to find a drum arrangement that suits it, but other times I just noodle and see where it goes (this was one of those times).
Why No Chorus/Middle8 on some of these jam tracks? Generally speaking, if I go to the trouble of going further than what is presented, its usually because I intend to make it a song for my own projects and that is often why I only present a basic melody or structure to get folks started with an idea... So, I hope you enjoy, and take it somewhere else, or rock out to it as presented, totally your choice....
