In Hebrews chapter 5, we are reminded that Hebrews was first written as a letter with no chapter breaks. It opens with a continuation of the previous chapter’s focus on the priesthood and how it relates to Jesus Christ as our high priest in heaven. We learn that Jesus can have compassion on us because He subjected Himself to our human weaknesses and produced in humanity, a better obedience.
