At 94 years old, RAF veteran David has found a new reason to smile thanks to "Valentine for a Veteran."
Living with significant sight and hearing loss, David (a former RAF Airframe Fitter) shares how sensory deprivation can lead to a deep sense of isolation. In this video, we explore how the RAF Benevolent Fund, in partnership with Sight Scotland, is bridging that gap through the "Valentine for a Veteran" campaign.
By delivering tactile, textured Valentine’s cards handmade by school children across Scotland, we are helping veterans like David feel remembered, valued, and connected to the RAF family.
In this video, you’ll hear David discuss:
00:18 - When did he join the RAF?
04:23 - What challenges does he experience?
06:14 - His handcrafted wooden items.
06:43 - How important is it to reconnect with other veterans?
09:33 - The Valentine for a Veteran campaign.
11:32 - Learn more.
This campaign is about more than just cards - it’s about providing a lifeline. Your donations and fundraising efforts allow the RAF Benevolent Fund to provide practical, financial, and emotional support to veterans and their families across Scotland.
