pftqSome even greener grass on the other side. This music is made from the same palette as Green Grass - another song with similar uplifting strings and instrumental acoustic guitar style but this one being a bit calmer and quieter. As before, it takes a lot of Bosa's cinematic style from the early Newgrounds days plus a bit flare of my own. No idea what the genre is (I thought it was bluegrass but haven't found any music like this when searching lol), so any input on that is welcome.
Greener Grass - More Uplifting Guitar and Strings Musicpftq2022-06-19 | Some even greener grass on the other side. Second version of Lunar Trigger & cousin to Lunar Fractals. Meant again as a collab stem for Waterflame to add to but didn't end up happening before the song got finished. Maybe 3rd time's the charm! Waterflame did share some synths/samples this time that were used by Zero-Bass though, so that helped get the sound a little bit closer to the inspiration. Like the first Lunar Trigger, the music is heavily inspired by two artists on Newgrounds - namely XsToRmEr1 (Flames of the Sky) and Zero-Bass (the Trigger in the name is a homage to his tracks as well - Lighting Trigger, Atomic Trigger, Death Trigger, etc).
This is also built out of the same instruments as Lunar Fractals, so it has a similar sound.
Check out Zero-Bass's stuff too! Managed to suddenly find his Spotify ironically because it got recommended to Lunar Trigger on auto-play, so looks like I got close enough to his style. :D open.spotify.com/artist/0zSUmTdqzIpecUexfuwdDB

He may still get to it, but I thought this was also nice enough to stand on its own as a separate track. Influences are mainly 2 artists I used to listen to on Newgrounds - XsToRmEr1 (Flames of the Sky) and Zero-Bass (the Trigger name is a homage to his naming scheme - Lighting Trigger, Atomic Trigger, Death Trigger, etc).
This is built out of the same instruments as Lunar Fractals, so it has a similar sound. You can consider it a more upbeat cousin of that track with a bit less melancholy.

All trades in the video are fully automated and to the live account shown. Not as many trades currently as when it first started, as the market is a bit thinner lately. The website dashboard is a UI for monitoring Tech Trader which I built in a couple days in mid-2015.
Tech Trader is a fully autonomous trading system I built back in 2012 and have left running in the background since. It primarily trades in the same style I used to do - somewhat a combination of technical analysis and orderflow analysis (of options) but nothing really standardized since it was how I ended up trading on my own. While it has some elements of adapting/self-adjusting to situations, it is more akin to the kind of AI you'd see in simulation or strategy games since that's what I grew up playing and modding as a teen.

I've wanted to play someone else who is also ambidextrous (and uses two rackets) for a long time, so if there's any other ambidextrous tennis players out there who want to hit, let me know. It's just fun imagining how it'd look with everyone using two rackets on a court (always imagined to look something like an anime or kung fu tennis battle haha). ^_^
#AmbidextrousTennisAmbidextrous Tennis - Switching Handspftq2022-07-10 | Old video some years ago of practicing ambidextrous tennis with two rackets against the wall and also switching hands. If you're also an ambidextrous tennis player and play with two rackets, please feel free to reach out. Would be fun to one day have 8 rackets on a court and make some sort of crazy anime / kung fu tennis battle haha ^_^Green Grass - Uplifting Guitar and Strings Musicpftq2022-06-19 | Grass is always greener on the other side. This is sort of a homage to Bosa's older cinematic music at Newgrounds, which had this kind of inspiring, uplifting strings and instrumental acoustic guitar feel. I listened to a lot of his stuff when I was younger and wanted to see if I can make something in similar style. Not sure what the genre is - some of his tracks were bluegrass, but none of the other tracks in the category sound like this. The low-whistle and fiddle also add a bit of an Irish/Celtic vibe. Maybe the closest thing is Sims music lol
*Reuploaded for better quality.Koto Cutter - Fast Intense Koto Musicpftq2022-06-19 | Dec.13 2020
First new song in a while. Just something short and sweet that might be expanded to something more later. Since I keep sneaking kotos into my other songs, I went ahead and just made a solo one (all koto except the brief flute).
This is the kind of stuff I like to listen to when it comes to kotos/Japanese music, with a ton of strumming and noise (almost like an acoustic guitar), and a lot of it comes from listening to East Wind / Uttara Kuru (ie Tsugaru) growing up. However, it doesn't seem very common when trying to find more koto music (at least for newer stuff online). The closest things I've found are maybe j-rock or band maiko (secret maiko lips), but they emphasize electric guitar with koto just in the background (and not very plucky either!).

See: pftq.com/blabberbox/?page=Old_Phone_Works_After_Activating_Sim_on_New_Phone
Basically AT&T and other carriers are claiming you need to buy a new phone because your phone doesn't work after 3G is shut down, when actually it is just them disabling your sim card. I'm not saying all old phones will continue to work but that they are taking advantage of the transition to arbitrarily disable all old phones without checking case by case if it still works.
Hard part about making the video is I already activated the new sim card with the new phone, so I can't show that it didn't work on the old phone previously (it didn't) - can only show that the old phone with its old sim clearly disabled and no 4G but works as soon as the new sim is swapped in.Sparkle in the Dust - Piano & Stringspftq2022-02-15 | Piano and strings bit that were leftovers to the more uplifting Sparkle piece from my earlier years. It's a complete opposite of the more blissful feel of the original released song, and it was hard to figure how to finish, as a result. Original song here: youtube.com/watch?v=tWwqOauKY-A
I figured I might as well have the piano version get a similar treatment here and be released on its own for the first time, since it was never published previously.
----------------------------------- Original Post: April 11, 2010
As the title suggests, think of rain when you hear this song. Think of rain in all its forms (drizzling, shower, storm, hail...) and then think of the sun when it begins to emerge. The initial idea was for the piano to represent rain and the flute as either life in general or the sun (just something counter to the chaos), but it's really up to interpretation. I just happened to think of this song during a rainy day. :P
I had the theme going in my head for almost a month before I was finally able to record it; initially I kept playing it in the wrong key signature and even after I've finished the song now, I don't think I actually got the right one. -_- If anyone knows an easy way to shift all notes up or down a few steps in FL Studio (all channels + patterns), please let me know (but then I might end up even more indecisive :P ). I actually have a version of the song shifted up to an A-flat key instead (correct me if I'm wrong; I can't read music), but it's only in piano: pftq.com/raindropsp (can't decide which I like better)
Originally there were two endings very similar, but I liked them both too much to give up either. I ended up just having the second ending modified to hopefully not to be similar. One way to imagine it is the first ending results in the storm taking over while the second ending represents a recovery or aftermath (think after the storm).
The one thing that kept bothering me the most about this song were the transitions; I still don't think I managed to get them right, but alas I'm out of ideas for this one now.Island of Anuwerapftq2022-01-06 | Running the notes from the extended #Anuwera through some tropical island sounding music instruments just for fun. *Re-uploaded to fix mastering/compression.
Short melodic music loop with a clock-like ticking. Created this in a day for part of a longer piece, but thought the segment was interesting enough to listen to on its own. As usual, there's a koto in there.Cloudful (Piano Music, Re-Rendered)pftq2021-12-26 | A rerender of some older piano from 2010 when my left hand was much more limited, but as it is one of the few happier renditions of this melody, I thought it was worth restoring with higher quality samples.
Short, mellow piano improvisation from the Halloween weekend. For some reason I really like the ringing in the A# note, so I just ended up spamming that here lol
Originally wanted to add more ambience after the strings, but couldn't quite make it work.Cloudless Daydream - Slow, Melancholic Piano Improvisationpftq2021-07-04 | Slow, melancholic piano improvisation I played some time about a year ago. It doesn't really go anywhere, but the melody comes back every now and then for me. The original melody and piece in Cloudless Dreams is much more uplifting, but in some ways, it feels like that only ever remained a dream while reality took this route instead.
The original Cloudless motifs, which if you like can be further listened to under Cloudless Medley: youtube.com/watch?v=w7FDe7hU9iwCloudless Sky - Piano Duet Improvisation (Azuria Sky vs pftq)pftq2021-05-16 | Duet piano improvisation with Azuria Sky some years back that we both forgot about. Starts with some motifs from my Cloudless melodies before branching into something different. Everything is made up live on the spot with no sheet music, and it was the first time we ever played together. A video breaking out the notes by player is above, but the software stopped separating the notes about half-way through, making it unclear who was playing what. The arpeggios are always from Azuria Sky, since I can't play those myself. And the random dissonant / creepy changes in tone are probably me.

Music obviously isn't mine but is meshed together just for fun to show how similar the pieces are from each respective movie. Ironically, Dark City is the most uplifting variation of the melody and most thoroughly explores it.

#AmbidextrousTennisHeart of Forma (Koto Climax / Video Game Boss Music)pftq2019-02-01 | Climax / boss-music portion of the Heart of Forma OST I made a few years back. Thought it was catchy enough that it might be worth uploading on its own in case people don't get around to listening through the full OST. The instrumentation is intentionally MIDI / retro-sounding to match the old-school look of the video game. The game took place in space but had an element of Japanese / anime fantasy fighting style to it.

Flying and taking to the skies one last time. A final revisit to one of the first songs I ever made.
This is music for a small side-scroller indie space game that was under development by a colleague. The game is light-hearted and somewhat retro, so the music will sound cheesy and a little MIDI-ish at times. I went pretty loose with my composing here and just went with whatever flowed to me rather than try to think too hard. Probably the most fun and relaxed I've had composing in a while. A lot of my influence probably comes from older Sega or PS1 games.
Unfortunately, the game appears to have stalled in production, so I wrapped up what I could of the song after about 2 years of it sitting idle.

Originally I would just call it fully automated trading (all the way through, no occasional updates or manual processing of trades), but at the time, people started using that to describe things that were still modified/refined every month or so. Of course, now that I've moved to using "fully autonomous trading" to describe what I'm doing, the same thing is slowly happening to that phrase as well.
Anyway, the presentation is kept at a high level and discusses the technology and thought process behind the system. It also touches on my short thought piece "Creating Sentient Artificial Intelligence", which gives a sense of the thinking behind how I approached the trading (inspired by but not itself the AI concept): pftq.com/blabberbox/?page=Creating_Sentient_Artificial_Intelligence
About Tech Trader: techtrader.ai Tech Trader is a fully autonomous trading system live across thousands of stocks with no human intervention. It is unique from conventional algorithmic trading systems, not only because it actually is fully automated trading, but because it takes a "human" approach to markets. It is not quant. It is not stat-arb. It is not high frequency. It is a program that looks at stocks the same way a person would but with the cold discipline and infinite attention span of a machine. It is analogous to having a thousand traders each focusing on a single stock, as opposed to a single quant manager trying to make sense of a thousand datapoints. A person doesn't think through stats, correlations, or complex math models when trading, and neither does Tech Trader. Tech Trader leverages technology to do what the best traders do at scale and maximum efficiency rather than approach the markets from the point of view of an academic, mathematician, or scientist.
