The 240SX RESTOMOD Gets A Custom WIDEBODY! The 62 GMC Project Has Put Me Through The Wringer...Heres What REALLY Happened... No videos, barely any updates. It's been over a year since I uploaded a video on this truck, which is a shame. I was incredibly excited about this series because it was the first time I was able to get truly creative in building something. It also allowed me to develop fabrication skills that I had always dreamt of having. The goal of building this truck was to create something that's easily serviceable, reliable, fun and comfortable to drive on a daily basis. The core of this build started by taking two worn out GM trucks that were destined for the scrap yard and salvage as much of them as possible to limit cost and give the '62 a significant dose of modernizing. Tons of promise was there, but the execution fell apart. It caused me, and another friend of mine, Andy, to take many steps back in order to go forward. Despite the car driving good in the prior episode, a closer inspection revealed a lot of worn out components. The bushings, ball joints, tie rods, and more all showed significant wear so I elected to remove and replace pretty much everything. Not only that, but I also took extra time to restore the parts and make everything look like new before reassembly. Due to the intensity of what I'm going to have to do on this car, I'm splitting up the chassis rebuild into two separate videos. This video will focus on the front end. The next video will focus on the rear end. When Projects Dont Go As Planned...Getting The S10 Ready For A 6.0L V8 Upgrade! The S10's engine has developed some catastrophic issues that are going to require it to be replaced. The 5.3L LM7 (iron block LS engine) I will hope to have fixed and save it for the future, but to get the S10 wrapped up, I've decided to utilize a 6.0L LQ4 (iron block LS engine) that I had on hand. This way I can hopefully get the truck fixed relatively quick. Then this several year build will be complete! While I have dreaded fixing this for quite some time now, the truck is going to have more power, which will make it even more fun! I appreciate all of your support with this build so far.
