Do Mumbaikars know what NOTA stands for? Jaimine Triggerer 2021-04-12 | Good old memories! This video was spontaneously planned in February 2017, when I was working at a social research firm. The theme of this video was to prolude the political choice called NOTA (None of the Above) option.Often Mumbaikars are quite lazy, elite and urbanized to skip practicing their constitutional right (voting). If you see the numbers, not more than 45% make it on the polling day. So how about pressing the #NOTA button on the voting day instead, when we are already pissed at the apathy and angst of the political fraternity?I know NOTA does not bring about any change as it's a 'waste vote', since there's no 'right to recall' in the current epoch. But at least when there's aggregation of the NOTA numbers, the political class might get a lill tensed. By the way, even voting for a lesser evil does not downsize the tumor of evilishness. It's a vicious rat cycle anyway. To my surprise, with the help of my team then, around 72,000 Mumbaikars could manage to vote NOTA in BMC election (2017). Remembering Mark Twain's quote here, "If voting could change the things, they'd make it illegal."
