Most of the time Money helps us to assess how much return we got for the efforts that we have put for a cause. I too was assessing. During CoViD19, when most of the people exhausted everything available on Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hot Star etc, I was doing research after research on law topics, presentations, video recordings, editing, uploading etc in YouTube. All in isolation - between four wall of the room. There was hardly any motivation... Less subscribers... Less Views / likes / comments / shares... But nothing stopped me then. I was determined to the cause and made videos after videos and added about 352 videos in just one calendar year. No team, no assistance... My wife encouraged, my son was part of entire process - waiting for thanks slides...If I had to get financial results to the extent of my efforts, I could have gone to depression. But that's not how I assessed it. I saw messages from law students and felt how much it meant for them. Not everyone appreciated though because I didn't reach their expectations but many of my subscribers believed in me. Mostly lazy students who did last moment preparations, who wanted quick understanding and some quick notes too... They enjoyed it and gave feed back and that's my returns.Finally, here is the ice on the cake... When that kid said, ದೇವ್ರು, ದೇವರೂ... ಲಾ ಸ್ಟೂಡೆಂಟ್ಸ್ ದೇವರೂ... he doesn't know how much feedback he gave to me... It's just sounded like an warning for me. I have not done much videos in last two year citing busy schedules... But that kid, that college students kind of awaken me and said RESTART... I have to make a commitment to myself... But one thing is common - THOUSAND MILES JOURNEY STARTS WITH SINGLE STEP...With my average English and being student of law, I just felt one day that there are no full-fledged English Law Teachers on You Tube. Eventually, I also realized over the years that it is hardly possible for a single person to teach all laws because LAW IS AN OCEAN... You can hardly hold a drop out of it.Let that be. Coming back to my story - It was not difficult for me because my target was easy - ADD AS MUCH AS CONTENT POSSIBLE!!!CoViD19 helped me a lot to load almost 365+ videos in year 2020 because I was working more than 18 hours to add 2 videos on daily basis.I enjoyer doing Indian Evidence Act. When I did those contents, I was still in 4th Semester of my LLB and it was a 6th Semester Subject. But I did every possible research possible on the subject and tried to bring best charts to make the subject easy. I was reading like hell. Today the result is visible - If I take a walk in Karnataka High Court campus, I get at least one student / lawyer / advocate who watched me. Isn't that a good feeling?In this journey, I have got calls from people all over the country. Few were retired officers... Few were professionals... Few were advocates who were preparing for their judiciary... Few were kids of advocates... Few were watching me because some judges referred me... So many stories... Students from different colleges called me and told me that their lecturers used my contents on 'Introduction to Public International Law', 'Ramayana, Mahabharata and the Evidence Act (An introduction to Evidence Law)' etc. Those were goosebump moment for me because I expected some results but ended up with some impact.Who is big? A teacher or a student? If what I did on YouTube was teaching and if that makes me teacher, I would say Students are big because I always felt, what I did was average but you guys made it big. I repeat I am not a teacher but a researcher and I did these classes when I was studying law. Hence my contents have its own limitations and you have to apply mind before utilizing them. Saying so, there were no shortage of time at any point of time.My son added lot of flavor to every single video here. He was a little kid who was very curious on what's happening and then few thanks slides and then did few banking law videos. He was always part of the plan and he kept me motivated by asking "Pappa, when are we recoding our next video?". It does help me add few extra videos.Gratitude can never be expressed in words... I think I have to completely agree with this when it comes to my wife... She was the one who believed that I will make it happen. She had to pause cooking so many times to ensure that my videos are not disturbed...Family and Friend stood with me unconditionally...YOU GUYS... MY SUBSCRIBERS... You guys made an average person into an average+ guy. You guys supported me... you guys encouraged me... few sent bad comment to say that videos are bad... I had to try better myself... I did try... I feel I have done good job comparing to my early videos to latest videos... I think life is all about that - Do better comparing to your earlier efforts... and yes... I had no team... I had to read, research, understand, prepare content, criticize it, rework on it, record, edit, load everything... I don't know how many of those contents not aired, just because I couldn't convince myself on those contents to go on air... If I am not convinced, then I just ignored those contents and sometimes the efforts were more than 30 hours!!!GURUDAKSHINA... That's another wonderful feel... People somehow wanted to pay something to me... Initially I just said no to them... Then I shared my contact number in about page and whenever people asked me via whatsapp, I told them that it is my GPay number... People paid Rs. 1 to Rs. 2000/-. Few sponsored a lunch and few dinners... Few became channel members though there were no additional benefit... Wonderful you guys are but as I always say, don't put pressure on your purse for me.Finally...The earning in YouTube is not sufficient to lead a reasonable life when the contents are like mine... The content that I make is useful for a very small group of people and yet reached 100+ countries of the world. But the earning here is quite low and I can't completely depend on it. Hence, I have to focus on job and that selfishness has reduced my time to YouTube and hence unable to add too many contents at quick pace. However, have a strong feel to add few more topics and possibly in an year or so, will make some strategy to better this place.Before I conclude, I should say that IT ALL STARTED WITH SOME FANTACY... SOME EASY THOUGHTS... But here you don't see who is watching you... You don't get too much money... Your videos don't go viral... But you have to keep yourself motivated and if I succeeded in that ITS ONLY BECAUSE YOUR MESSEGES!!
