Kuukiko 2024-09-01 | It's been quite a while since I posted anything on YouTube and being given this opportunity by @pigchefer to help arrange, mix and master the main theme song of his short film entitled "If Life Was Meant with a Friend, Am I Really Alive?" pushed me to try and start uploading again. I figured I'd start again with this instrumental version of the song which was originally composed by @pigchefer, arranged and produced by me and @MrAflac_1 ,and sang by @riifushi. It was an absolute honor being able to work on this project : D

Little story I came up with:
A woman lay down on her bed filled with exhaustion from the day at work. It was supposed to be her dream job, yet she felt a sense of emptiness. At that moment, something caught her eye and she went over to take it. It was none other than the photo album her and her friends from high school put together. She opened it and browsed through the pages. She was reminded of all the fun things, the pain, the sadness, and the love, but most of all, the warmth. On the final page, there lay a group picture of them on their graduation day filled with smiles and a small note that read... "I won't forget"

She was filled with a bittersweet feeling knowing that these moments will now only remain in memories. However, this also gave a newfound courage to her. At the end of the day, she is who she is now because of the past. She closed the book and smiled. She was given courage by the warmth of a memory.

Kuukiko | The Legend of the Evertree (Ryan Leach Composing Competition)

Kuukiko 2022-07-25 | This is my submission for @RyanLeach 's composing competition! Being a huge Studio Ghibli fan, I definitely had a lot of fun composing this! I even imagined an entire original movie in my head while I was making this T-T (I'll leave it at the end of the description if you're interested)

This piece was heavily influenced by the soundtrack of Princess Mononoke. I took ethnic chinese instruments and combined it with the orchestra to give it a more ancient feel ^^

(Made up narrative I came up with while writing this piece xD)
The piece tells the story of a young man who traveled the world in search of the "Evertree", an old ancient tree which is higher than the skies above as told by the ancient legends. It is said to contain the answer to all life's questions. The young man seeked the Evertree in hopes of finding his purpose in life. Along the way, he encountered different people who had different circumstances and different views of the world. As he helped these people, he learned many things about life and how the world works. Eventually, he arrived at Journey's end. He expected many trials upon entering the place, but instead found a rather peaceful settlement. The shepherd called out to him. When he asked about the tree and the answers to life's questions, the shepherd simply smiled and said "Haven't you already found the answers yourself?" The young man realized what he meant and laughed. The shepherd, settlement, and tree slowly vanished then the young man found himself in the entrance to his home village.

Kuukiko 2022-07-13 | Hibike! Euphonium is a show that holds a very dear place in my heart. Not only did it help me get through tough times, but it also gave me hope. It was the show that inspired and motivated me to become the person I am today. I owe a lot to the show and the people who worked on it. With KyoAni month coming around the corner, I decided now would be the best time to pay tribute to the show that changed my life. Thank you, Kyoto Animation, for changing my life. #ThankYouKyoAni
