It still feels unreal, but here it is: Every Monte Cristo video that I wanted to make on my channel is now released. And while I still aim to remaster some of my older videos at some point, it's weird to think that this era of my life comes to a close. I don't think I have felt this passionate about anything these last 10 years then when I discovered MLP, Ink Potts and these animatics, and if I had the chance to re-discover them, by god, I would take that opportunity in a heartbeat. But let's not get too sentimental here, I'm sure the future will have some new and exciting things ready for us =)
There isn't much I can say about the video itself, other than that I've developed an even deeper appreciation for the animatic while I was working on the german translation and synchronization, and even though I'm not the biggest fan of the german lyrics of this song, I think the final result definitively turned out well. And I even taught myself something new when I had to apply lighting effects when I changed the on-screen lyrics at ^^
German lyrics:
lyricstranslate.com/de/der-mann-der-ich-einst-war-man-i-once-was.html
Hoffnung ist, was bleibt.
Niemals allein, für immer bleib ich dein.
Erbarmen führt mich zur Erlösung.
Keine Bitterkeit.
Frei und nun geheilt.
Zeig mir den Stern, der mich nach Hause führt.
Mein Herz erwacht und spürt nochmal
den Mann, der ich einmal war.
This was significantly easier to work on compared to part 1 since I didn't have to deal with the snow-effect, but there were still a few new problems, the biggest one being that scream at 2:48 that wasn't there in the russian version and feels totally out of place in this animatic. Well, not much I can do about it, so please just try to ignore it x) The rest worked out pretty well though. Enjoy! =)

German lyrics:
Alfred:
Ein Mädchen, das so lächeln kann,
hab ich nie geseh'n.
Sarah:
So eine netten jungen Mann
habe ich noch nie geseh'n.
Alfred & Sarah:
Ich kann nicht schlafen, doch ich bin
auch nicht wach,
denn ich träum.
Seit wir uns trafen,
macht es Sinn,
was ich mach,
auch wenn ich einfach nur
die Zeit versäum...
Sarah:
... und verträum.
Alfred:
Ein Mädchen, das so lächeln kann
Sarah: (versetzt)
So einen netten Jungen...
Alfred:
So natürlich...
Sarah:
...zierlich...
Alfred & Sarah:
...habe ich noch nie geseh'n.
Prof. Abronsius:
Junge, hörst du das?
Jemand schleicht durchs Haus!
Ewas geschieht, ich weiß nicht was,
doch ich krieg es raus!
Chagal:
Was macht mein süßes Magdalein? (Magda: Nähn)
Chagal:
Setz dich auf mein Knie!
So eine tadelose Magd hatte ich bisher noch nie.
Alfred, Sarah & Chagal:
Ich fühl mein Sehnen, bin verwirrt
und ich will, denn ich träum,
mich an dich lehnen. Sicher wird mein Herz still,
Anyways, with this video we've finally done it; there is now a Synthesia available for every single song from the "Count of Monte Cristo"-musical for you to enjoy listening to =D That doesn't mean that there will never be content on this musical from now on, many of my older Synthesias are still in dire need of a remastering, and I still have a few other ideas left ^^ But yeah, it feels weird to know that this series finally reached its conclusion, both the animatics and my synthesias. I can't help but look back at all the amazing memories I made in connection with this series, that magic and joy I felt when I discovered it is still unrivaled by anything else I've experienced since then. But I'm sure whatever Ink Potts has planned next will be equally as grand, and I will patiently wait however long it takes for them to start their next big series =)
Also remember when I said that I was about to finish my masters thesis at University and will therefore not be able to upload as often? That is now officially over, last week I finished my final exam and I'm now officially a degreed engineer, which is basically one step below PhD ^^ This means I can now go back to my regular schedule of uploads, which will be once every month. I hope that's ok with you all, these videos take a long time to make and I'm just one guy after all. Thanks for sticking around with me and I hope you'll look forward to any future videos!

And to adress the elephant in the room: Yes, that thumbnail is my way to get the attention of every Ink Potts-fan out there ^^ Because this song is very special in that it is not only written by the same author who created the Monte Cristo-songs, Frank Wildhorn, but it is also sung (in parts) by Mondego's english voice, Patrick Stanke. So if you are like me and love his silky smooth evil voice in Monte Cristo, you might want to give this song a listen ^^ But be warned, the song is entirely in german, since Patrick Stanke is actually a german actor. I did add a translation both here in the subs, as well as in the comment section of the original song, so you can have an idea of what's going on =)
Anyways, the context of the musical is of course totally different though. It is about the life of the legendary King Arthur, and his journey from when he pulled Excalibur from the stone, until he becomes the true king who unifies England. And along the way he encounters some villainous figures like the other King Lot, or the witch Morgan. This song takes place after the assassination of Arthur's father-figure by Lot's men, and he swears bitter revenge to him. So this song basically shows everyone preparing for a big war, Arthur VS Lot, while Morgan is plotting her own schemes in the background. Guinivere, Arthur's wife, is trying reason with Arthur and to cool him down, with little sucess.
So that's the circumstances of this song. I personally like to imagine Mondego singin the first verse, before his duel with Fernand. It fits quite well I think ^^
Also, the english lyrics I added were only translated by me, so they aren't very singable. I don't think official english lyrics of the song exist though since this musical, like many other works of Frank Wildhorn, never get aired in the US...

Anyways, the topic of this video is very important to me as I've been thinking about this a lot lately, namely in which videos you all would be most interested in. Please share your opinions with me as I would really like to hear them. Keep in mind though that I need sheet music to create my Synthesias, so whether or not I can do certain songs depends a lot on whether I can find any good scores for them.
*) (remark about 0:45) I know I haven't covered "The Man I used to be" yet, but I'm still waiting for Ink Potts to finish their last animatic so there will be suitable fanart I can use.
I also made a little poll here, please vote so I can get a grasp on where your interests lie: strawpoll.me/16750983

I will spare you the details of the entire story of "Romeo & Juliet", but to give some context to this song in particular: This is the first song in the musical, it is sung by the prince of Verona where he describes his town. There are two families, the Capulets (in red) and the Montagues (in blue) who destroy every ounce of peace in his town.
When making this Synthesia, I mostly based it on the german version of the song. I also added subs for the original french, german and english.
The original french version (with subs):

German version (which added a sick e-guitar, sadly no subs):

English version of this song (quite different, and I would argue it's less powerful as the others):

And it was actually about to have a Broadway release last year, but similar to "Dance of the Vampires", the production got cancelled because of a bunch of dubious financial circumstances. It's really a damn shame that all these fantastic european musicals never make their way over to the States for one reason or another =/
For those interested, here's a trailer of what could've been:
youtube.com/watch?v=zqw8kV6AWD8
Let me outline story a bit:
"Rebecca" (unlike every other musical with just a name in the title) *doesn't* star the character Rebecca at all, but instead focuses on a young woman who falls in love with a rich guy called Mr. de Winter, who has lost his wife Rebecca recently. He takes her to his mansion, Manderly, but once she arrives there, she notices that the staff despises her and would much rather have Rebecca back. So it all pretty much focuses on this young girl trying to fit in in Manderley while there's still the crushing presence of the dead Rebecca lingering around everywhere, while the audience slowly learns more about the details of the mystery of Rebecca's death. Saying anything more than that would spoil everything, so I will leave it at that. So yeah, Rebecca is basically the "villain" in this musical, controlling pretty much everything from beyond death. The whole setup is really really fascinating, my words honestly can't do it justice.
This song is sung by the head maid of Manderley, Mrs. Danvers, who is pretty much in denial about Rebecca's death, telling the young woman that Rebecca's spirit will never leave Manderley.
I don't think I will make too many Synthesia's about this musical, but I felt like giving it some time in the spotlight for once. You can still expect videos to more familiar musicals (Monte Cristo, Jekyll&Hyde) in the near future, but I might also sprinkle in some songs from other musicals I really care about from time to time.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the context of this song: This takes place after the well-known "Alive" song in the "Jekyll & Hyde"-musical. After locking himself up in his room for a whole week, Dr. Jekyll gets a visit by his friend Utterson who tries to reason with him. At the same time, Jekyll's fiancée Emma tries to convince her father (who is the chairman of the Board of Governors) that Jekyll isn't as obsessed with his work as it might seem, with poor results.

Anyways, this was really weird for me because I don't actually understand russian except for a few words x) That's why my good friend Stuflox helped me with the translation.
And if at some points it sounds like the voice of Edmond/Mercedes changes, well, that's because they are ^^ For some reason the studio decided to mash for russian singers into this cover x)
The next video is going to be a Synthesia again, I promise =)

This one was especially challenging to make because of the snow-effect that made it impossible to adjust each of the frames to the german version. Fortunatelly, Stuflox gave me a version without the snow effect to work with, and when I was done I put my own snow over the video ^^ Hope it turned out alright =)

Yeah, I haven't just worked on one specific video over the last couple of months, but rather on quite a few ^^
I'm sure most people won't be familiar with this song, it is from another very famous european musical called "Elisabeth". It basically tells the story of the austrian Empress Elisabeth, but they changed and added a number of things to make the overall story more appealing. For example they added a personifcation of Death as one of the main characters, and there's a love story going on between the two. This might sound weird, but it makes the story more interesting and you can enjoy it even if you don't know anything about european history.
This song is about Death (here played by Applejack) manipulating Elisabeth's son, crown prince Rudolf (played by Sweetie Belle), who is driven to suicide a little later in the story.
I hope I was able to get some of you interested in the musical. Here's a link to a HQ-trailer of the musical (with english subs):
youtu.be/pazuQ--rYls?t=188
I linked straight to where this song in particular starts playing so you can see how it originally sounds.
The background artwork was drawn by the Stuflox (stuflox.deviantart.com/art/The-Shadows-are-getting-longer-718634263), who recently discoverd the song and started to really like it. Hope you like how it turned out ^^
There will of course be more Synthesia-covers based on other musicals in the future (as well as some remasters for songs from this musical), so don't worry, this channel won't be going away anytime soon ;-)
Anyways, about this song: This is the first time I haven't used a MLP-image for the background since there wasn't really anything that would fit to such a vague song like this. The song's lyrics are entirely in latin btw, and though they are very religious, they really fit the story of the "Count of Monte Cristo" when you translate them so in case anyone is interested in it, I'll write down the lyrics and translation here:
Fiat justitia
et pereat mundus.
Fiat justitia
ruat caelum.
Kyrie eleison
Christe eleison
Kyrie... (Kyrie eleison)
Dies iræ, dies illa
solvet sæclum in favilla
Dies iræ, dies illa (Eleison...)
Teste David cum sybilla
Quantus tremor est futuris (Eleison...)
quando iudex est venturus.
Kyrie Kyrie Christe eleison
Kyrie Kyrie Christe eleison
Confutatis maledictis (Christe...)
flammis acribus addictis... (...eleison, eleison...)
Dies iræ, dies illa
Dies iræ...
Christe eleison, eleison (Christe eleison)
Eleison, eleison... (Christe eleison)
Christe eleison, eleison (Christe eleison)
Dona nobis nobis pacem
Dona nobis nobis pacem
Dona nobis, dona nobis
nobis pacem dona nobis
nobis pacem
*Translation:*
Let justice be done,
though the world perishes.
Let justice be done,
though the heavens fall.
Lord, have mercy
Christ, have mercy
Lord... (Lord, have mercy)
The day of wrath, that day
will dissolve the world into ashes,
The day of wrath, that day (have mercy...)
David being witness, with Sibyl.
How great will be the quaking, (have mercy...)
when the Judge will come.
Lord, Lord, Christ, have mercy
Lord, Lord, Christ, have mercy
Once the cursed have been silenced, (Christ...)
sentenced to never-ending acrid flames (...have mercy, have mercy...)
The day of wrath, that day
The day of wrath...
Christ, have mercy, have mercy (Christ have mercy)
Eleison, eleison... (Christe eleison)
Christe eleison, eleison (Christe eleison)
Give us our peace
Give us our peace
Give us, give us
our peace, give us
our peace
In any case, please know that, even if I don't upload for a while, this channel is never dead. I'm always active in the comments, either under Ink Potts' or my videos (and also on some other random videos all across YouTube x) and the same goes for my Twitter and DeviantArt-page. So I'll be still around ^^
Anyways, let's finally talk about this video: The Train Sequence is probably one of the lesser known songs from the "Dracula"-musical, but it's still one of my absolute favorites because of the dark and foreboding undertone that surrounds it. In it, Van Helsing tries to gain some vital information about Dracula's whereabouts through the mental connection between Mina and the vampire. This is very dangerous though because Dracula can use that same connection to pull Mina over to his dark side.
Also, I again tried to add some subtitles to the video, which was pretty easy for the german version, but very difficult for the english version because I could only find the full lyrics in a single video on YouTube (I linked it down below), but it was very hard for me to understand what the actor was saying at parts, which is why the translations are incomplete. If anyone can understand what the guy is saying, then please tell me and I'll complete the lyrics.
EDIT: Thanks to Kat Anderson, I could complete the lyrics ^^

Ok, back to the video: This animatic is based on the musical "Dance of the Vampires" and shows the scene where Prof. Abronsius (Twilight Sparkle) and his assistant Alfred (Fluttershy) confront the vampire Count Von Krolock. It's a bit difficult to explain exactly what's going on if you haven't seen the musical so I highly suggest checking it out (link down below). I know it's not very famous in America, but it was still a very big hit here in Europe, and I also think it's a fantastic musical all around.
Also you might recognize the voice of the vampire-Count Von Krolock: It's again Thomas Borchert, the guy who also played the "Count of Monte Cristo" as well as "Count Dracula" in the respective musicals. Looks like he enjoys playing Counts a lot ^^
And, yeah, I know that it has been a bit quiet here on my channel over the last couple of weeks. It was pretty hypocritical of me to make an update-video saying I'm not dead just before vanishing again for so long x) So what have I been doing over this time? Pretty much investing all my free time into the new "Legend of Zelda"-game ^^' Seriously, that game is amazing, and I've been hocked ever since I bought it. New Synthesia's are still in the works though, so don't worry, I'm far from done with this channel =)

1. The video runs now at a smooth 60FPS. I always hated how bad the framerate was in my older videos.
2. I changed the colors to actually match the singers. The old version was the only video where I didn't do that.
3. The background image is now sharper and less distorted than in the original.
4. I added another background track and changed some transitions to make it sound more complex
5. I tweaked the volume of many notes so the whole thing sounds consistently nice. I'm not sure if many people noticed this, but when you listen closely to the original, you can hear that many notes had a slight spike in volume for no reason. Well I sure did, and I found it very annoying to listen to, so I'm glad I could fix it here. Many of my older videos have this problem, actually.
Anyways, I don't know how often I'll do remasterings like this one, but I definitively enjoyed improving the quality my oldest Synthesia ^^ I hope it payed off and you like this new version.

----Lyrics----
Mondego:
We are friends, are we not?
Danglars:
And our interests are the same.
Villefort:
We collaborate...
Danglars:
And trust in fate to parcel out the blame.
Mondego:
There are ends we’ve all got that can justify the means.
Danglars:
We negotiate...
Villefort:
Then fabricate the facts behind the scenes.
Mondego:
Keeping all the details vague and secrets hidden
Danglars:
Safe in the balance sheet of those you trust
Because history is a story told by the winners of the fight
You imply a little...
Mondego:
Lie a little...
Villefort:
Testify and try a little sailor.
Mondego:
Who’s gonna question what goes on in the middle of the night?
Not a tinker...
Danglars:
Not a tailor...
Mondego:
Not his father or Mercedes...
Villefort:
Or a jailor
Mondego:
So we all are agreed,
Let’s be vigilant and wise
Danglars:
We must all pretend our naïve friend was caught in his own lies
For our plan to succeed
we must share but one belief:
Edmond Dantés stays and ends his days inside the Château d’If!
Mondego:
Where the softest things he’ll touch are stones and darkness
Deep in a craggy island dungeon’s keep.
Villefort:
Because history’s a story told by the men who make the laws
Danglars:
We supply a little lie...
Mondego:
To help the gullible to buy a little fable
Villefort:
What will become of the righteous men who fashioned Dantés’ flaws?
Danglars:
Rich...
Villefort:
And well respected...
Mondego:
And no more to be rejected at her table.
Mondego:
I’ll be a comfort in her time of grief and anguish
I’ll be Mercedes’ ever faithful acolyte,
every night
Villefort:
A part of me wishes Dantés didn’t have to languish
but I can see it’s him or me!
Danglars:
Let him sit there and rot until he’s forgot
Mondego:
Let him rot!
All:
History’s a story told by the people who survive
Villefort:
Let me sign and then initial
Danglars:
It’s the truth if it’s officially the story
Mondego:
What if the cost is one young man so three more men can survive?
Villefort:
He’s a price we have to pay
Mondego:
To live and fight another day for love and glory
Danglars:
He was standing in our way
A threat to justice in Marseille
Villefort:
So goes the story!
Mondego:
Stick to the story!
All:
Here ends the story!
I've discovered Ink Potts in November 2014, a little over two years ago, and I've been hooked on their content since ^^ I think their new "You and Me (But Mostly Me)"-animatic was really cute, I enjoyed seeing their original, more sketchy style again, and the song itself got me interested in the actual musical "Book of Mormon". There is no german version of the song though, so don't expect a video on that ^^
So how was I able to finish this so fast? Well, I've actually known about this animatic for a while now, Ink Potts revealed it to their Patreons (yay :D) over a year ago, so I had plenty of time to prepare this for when it finally got officially released.
Anyways, enjoy!

Lyrics:
Price (and Cunningham):
I've always had the hope that on the day I go to heaven
Heavenly Father will shake my hand and say
"You've done an awesome job, Kevin!"
Now it's our time to go out
(My best friend...)
to set the world's people free.
We can do it together, you and me
but mostly me!
You and me
– but mostly me –
are gonna change the world forever
'cause I can do most anything!
Cunningham:
And I can stand next to you and watch!
Price:
Every hero needs a sidekick; every captain needs a mate!
(Aye, aye!)
Every dinner needs a side dish...
Cunningham:
...on a slightly smaller plate.
Both:
And now we're seeing eye to eye, it's so great we can agree
That Heavenly Father has chosen you and me –
Price (and Cunningham):
Just mostly me!
Something incredible...I'll do something incredible
I want to be the Mormon who changed all of mankind
(My best friend...)
Something I've foreseen.
Now that I'm nineteen
I'll do something incredible
that blows God's freaking mind!
Both:
And as long as we stick together
Cunningham:
and I stay out of your way!
Price:
Out of my way!
Cunningham:
We will change the world...
Both:
...forever!
Cunningham:
And make tomorrow a latter day!
Price:
Mostly me!
Cunningham:
So quit singing about it...
Both:
...and do it!
How ready and psyched are we?!
And life is about to change for you
And life is about to change for me
And life is about to change for you and me...
Price:
But me mostly!
And there's no limit to
What we can do
Me and you
But mostly me!
Oh boy, this song...there's actually a story behind this song: This was one of the first Synthesia's that I wanted to create back when I started this channel. At that time I still had no one who drew background art for me, so I stumbled upon a relatively new artist called StupidFlyingXXFOX, and I asked her if she had interest in a collab. Who would have thought that she would become one of my closest friends and best partners I ever had? ^^ We've done many many collaborations till then, I made the music and she drew the background-art for most of my videos. We finished many projects... except for the very fist one x)
The reason was that we wanted to wait till 5/6 was released to make sure that the background artwork would match the new animatic. Still, it's kinda ironic that the first collab-project I ever had turned out to be the longest one to finish ^^
As for the song itself, it takes place right before "I know those Eyes/This man is dead", where the guests are still waiting for the Counts pompous entrance, discussing all kinds of rumors and gossip about this mysterious person.
It's one of my favorite songs, even though it didn't translate so well to the piano, mostly because the spoken lyrics pretty much all have the same pitch.

Lyrics:
-I hear he's handsome.
-They say licentious.
-A Nouveau Riche who's quite pretentious.
-I heard he left his wife in India.
-He likes to play?
-That's what they say.
-I heard in Persia he was arrested,
a hint of murder was suggested.
-Behind each fortune lies a mortal sin.
Anyway, that's what they say.
Villefort:
They say he caused the crash that
hit the Brussel stock exchange.
Danglars:
I heard he bougt up all the tulips in the world, or so I'm told
(I heard that too!)
(Well that was bold.)
I swear it's true, that's what they're saying.
People:
-No no I heard he made his money mining minerals.
-Italian family they say, maybe Neapolitan
Danglars:
In either case he's rich as Croesus and as shrewd as snakes,
someone I'd really like to know.
All:
The finest wine from Montrachet,
Beluga caviar and silk from Mandalay.
Silver plates and golden trays.
One really can't resist though
The Count of Monte Cristo,
at least, you know, that's what they say.
Villefort:
And rumor has it, he's quite the duelist,
and under pressure stays the coolest.
Man:
I heard he shot somebody right between the eyes, then walked away.
That's what they say.
Danglars:
I heard he gambles, and likes the ladies,
perhaps a card game for Mercedes?
Mondego:
I've heard his taste runs more to cute little boys.
(-Quite the roué?)
That's what they say.
Other people:
-They say he built a railroad underneath a mountain range
to visit mistresses on both sides of the alps,
that's what I heard.
-I heard that too!
-Don't be absurd!
-I swear it's true, my mistress told me.
Villefort:
You know, no matter what he did or didn't do,
this place is grand, it cost a fortune
Man:
And I heard he really overpaid.
Danglars:
A bloody fortune, didn't bat an eye, just shelled it out,
someone we really ought to know.
All:
Golden fleece or feet of clay,
no matter what, we'll talk about him anyway.
Good or bad the pis aller.
When we have all departed,
is when we just get started
with parsing out what people say.
Danglars:
Could he be as rich as they all say he is?
(They say he's just a Nouveau Riche who's quite pretentious)
Villefort:
Could he really be an honest man?
(They say he shot somebody right between the eyes and got away)
Mondego:
Could he be as brave as Albert says he is?
(They say he keeps his head while others don't keep theirs)
All:
Could he be, well yes that's what they (say).
Let's enjoy the present tense, the opulence, the great expense, the
Finest wine from Montrachet.
Beluga caviar and silk from Mandalay.
Silver plates and golden trays.
One really can't resist though
The Count of Monte Cristo
The more we seem to doubt him
the more we talk about him
They say he's moving here to Paris and he'll stay,
that's what they say.
This song takes place just after Van Helsing and Arthur find out that Lucy turned into a vampire, and that there is nothing they can do to save her. Van Helsing then sings this somber melody about the curse of the vampires, trying to ease Lucy's pain before her death while also trying to comfort Arthur.

Lyrics:

Well, it's been a while since I had the honor to make one of these videos. In case you're living under a rock, Ink Potts has released a new video in their amazing "The Count of Monte Cristo"-series that inspired so many people, including myself. And the finished version is simply gorgeous, it was really worth all the wait *u*
Anyways, just like I did with the others, here's the german version of "I know those Eyes/This Man is Dead" (for all the german viewers), with english translations (for the english watchers who are curious). As always, I made sure to edit all the frames of Ink Potts' animatic to make sure it all still is in-sync. Hope you enjoy it =)
This is probably the only song from the musical where I can truly say that I like the german version more. Not only are there some lyrics I like more, but there's also a certain something they removed from the english version for some reason: That bell-sound at 1:20 when the Count sings for the first time sounds so epic. It appears a few times afterwards as well, and I think it helps giving his part a little more oomph. I just don't get why they removed it in the english version =/
German lyrics:
Mercedes:
Was lässt dich zögern?
Ein Flüstern genügt.
So nah, und doch unnahbar fern.
Ich seh einen Mann, der sich selber betrügt.
Durch endloses Schweigen getrennt...
Monte Cristo:
Der Mann ist tot
Nichts blieb zurück
Er starb ein Stück jeden Tag
Abgrundtief im Château D'If vermodert sein Sarg
Ihr seid verwirrt,
er ist nicht hier
egal was immer ihr seht
Tot und kalt, war er schon bald
ein Stück Geschichte
über Liebe
und wie man sie verrät.
Monte Cristo (& Mercedes)
Monte Cristo & Mercedes:
Lass mich endlich gehn und befreie mein Herz
Was lässt mich zögern?
Ein Flüstern genügt
So nah, und doch unnahbar fern
Hat sich die Liebe dem Schicksal gefügt?
Zu viel zerbrochen...
Zu viele Narben...
Dass dieses Schweigen uns trennt...
I also had a hard time deciding whether I should use a "Dr Pinkie & Miss Pie"-themed background, or a "Luna VS Astelle"themed background since both were really awesome animatics inspired by this song. In the end I went for the more classic version, but I might end up making a slightly altered version of this song for Magpie's Confrontation-animatic.

Lyrics:
Jekyll:
It's over now I know inside
No one will ever know
The sorry tale of Edward Hyde
and those who died, no one must ever know
They'd only see the tragedy
They'd not see my intent
The shadow of Hyde's evil
would forever kill the good that I had meant...
Am I a good man?
Am I a mad man?
It's such a fine line between a good man and a...
Hyde:
Do you really think that I would ever let you go?
Do you think I'd ever set you free?
If you do I'm sad to say: It simply isn't so.
You will never get away from me!
Jekyll:
All that you are is a face in the mirror!
I close my eyes and you'll disappear!
Hyde:
I'm what you face when you face in the mirror!
Long as you live, I will still be here!
Jekyll:
All that you are is the end of a nightmare!
All that you are is a dying scream!
After tonight I shall end this demon dream!
Hyde:
This is not a dream, my friend,
and it will never end!
This one is the nightmare that goes on!
Hyde is here to stay,
no matter what you may pretend
and I'll flourish long after you're gone!
Jekyll:
Soon you will die,
And my silence will hide you!
You cannot choose but to lose control
Hyde:
You can't control me,
I live deep inside you!
Each day you'll feel me devour your soul!
Jekyll:
I don't need you to survive,
like you need me!
I'll become whole
as you dance with death!
And I'll rejoice
as you breathe your final breath!
Hyde (& Jekyll):
I'll live inside you forever!
(No!)
With Satan himself by my side!
(Nooo!)
And I know that now and forever,
They'll never be able to separate
Jekyll from Hyde!
Jekyll:
Can't you see it's
over now!
It's time to die!
Hyde:
No not I!
Only you!
Jekyll:
If I die
you die, too!
Hyde:
You'll die in me
I'll be you!
Jekyll:
Damn you Hyde!
Leave me be!
Hyde:
Can't you see,
You are me?
Jekyll:
No!
Deep inside...
Hyde:
I am you!
You are Hyde!
Jekyll:
No, never!
Hyde:
Yes forever!
Jekyll:
God damn you, Hyde!
Take all your evil deeds,
And rot in hell!
Hyde:
I'll see you there, Jekyll!
Anyways, this actually took me way longer than I expected o_O This song is just so loooooooong, with loads of tempo-, key- and time-changes. And it didn't help that the sheet music I used was full of errors which forced me to recreate quite a bit by ear. I hope the final result is worth it though.
Also I have a new and much stronger laptop now, which means the video quality should be much better in the future. No more problems with the framerate! (hopefully x) And everything should look much smoother now =D I still had big problems with the audio though, but I hope that I will find a way around them eventually.

Look at this, another murder,
Just like the other murder!
That poor old General Glossop, dead!
Last week the bishop copped it!
The bloke what done it 'opped it!
That feller must be off 'is 'ead!
That's two in the last four days!
This killer has fancy ways!
To kill outside St. Paul's requires a lotta balls!
He hates the upper class!
He must be on 'is arse!
Who could he be?
Don't look at me!
What a shame! Dear General Glossop!
I hear there's a lot of gossip!
Although it didn't come from me!
(Of course not! - Yeah! - Of course not!)
What about that poor old Bishop?
That dreadful dirt they dish up!
Do you think it's true?
It well could be! (Imagine! Fancy! Really!)
I say that it goes to show
some people we think we know
aren't all they might appear!
How right you are my dear!
It's such a shocking thing!
But awfully interesting!
Who could it be?
Well, now let's see!
Murder, murder, doin' folks in
Murder, murder, is the worst sin!
Murder, murder, has me screaming
Bloody murder in the night!
Murder, murder, makes me blood thin!
Murder, murder, makes me head spin!
Murder, murder, starts me drinking!
Bloody murder in the night!
London has his killer on the loose!
Or a gang! Either way - Let 'em hang!
Gotta get his head inside a noose!
Run away! The police are no use!
Maybe his nerve will fail him!
They must go out and nail him!
They've gotta trail and jail him now!
Murder!
No matter who we're blaming
Till they pull what's-his-name in,
There's gonna be one flaming row!
Murder, murder, it's a curse, man!
Murder, murder, it's perverse, man!
Murder, murder, nothing's worse than
Bloody murder in the night!
Read about the worst two murders!
Much worse than the first two murders!
That makes it murders three and four!
They've murdered dear old Bessie!
I hear it extremely messy!
And poor old Archie is no more!
That's four in the last eight days!
It's London's latest craze!
This time it was in Park Lane!
And he may come back again!
Until the killers found
there's danger all around!
What can we do?
We wish we knew!
Murder, murder, once there's one done
Murder, murder, can't be undone!
Murder, murder, lives in London!
Bloody murder in the night!
Sweet Death has taken this brave man from us!
Sweet Death has raised his score to five!
Friends, take what comfort that you can from us!
Thank God us lot are still alive!
God in Heaven, now, forever
take him home and hold him near!
God in Heaven, now, forever
take him and leave us lot here!
Catching such a madman could be hard!
Shouldn't be! I agree! We shall see!
Cause they're all so thick at Scotland Yard!
Tellin' me! I agree! So do we!
He'll kill us, if we let him!
They'd better go and get him!
I know a way to net him!
HOW? Murder!
No matter who we're blaming!
Till they pull what's-his-name in,
there's gonna be one flaming row!
Murder, murder, on our doorstep!
Murder, murder, so watch your step!
Murder, murder, take one more step,
you'll be murdered in the night!
Murder, murder, once there's one done
Murder, murder, can't be undone!
Murder, murder, lives in London! -
Bloody murder in the night!
In the night!

We start of Part 4 with the most recognizable song of the musical: "Total Eclipse of the Heart" was written and produced by Jim Steinmann, the composer of this musical, and got popular with the version sung by Bonnie Tyler. I bet some of you didn't see that coming ;-)
After that, we're going on to "Carpe Noctem", a song that I personally don't care much for (even though it has an awesome name). It has a cool melody and a nice performance, but since it's all just a dream, it's really not very important to the overall plot. The next scenes in the crypt though are one of my favorites, they're overall really funny and have some great character moments, and the song that plays is really catchy as well ^^

I had a lot of fun with this song. I actually didn't appreciate it that much when I first listened to it, but after a while I noticed how intriguing the song is: It manages to sound calm, but with a threatening undertone, magical yet still mysterious. It has definitively grown on me and is now one of my favorite songs from the "Jekyll & Hyde"-musical. I think the finished version also turned out quite well =)
While Mr. Hyde is getting stronger and stronger, Dr. Jekyll realizes that his friends are in serious danger. That's why he writes each of them a letter, telling them that they should leave the town immediately. Unfortunatelly, Hyde manages to get to Lucy before she can leave, which leads to them spending one more night together...for the last time.

Lyrics:
Lucy:
I feel your fingers
brushing my shoulder
Your tempting touch
as it tingles my spine
Watching your eyes
as they invade my soul
Forbidden pleasures
I'm afraid to make mine.
At the touch of your hand
At the sound of your voice
At the moment your eyes meet mine
I am out of my mind
I am out of control
Full of feelings I can't define!
Hyde:
It's a sin with no name
Like a tiger to tame
And my senses proclaim
It's a dangerous game!
A darker dream
that has no ending
Something unreal
that you want to be true
Lucy:
A strange romance
out of a mystery tale
Hyde:
A frightened princess
doesn't know what to do
Does she just run away?
Does she risk it and stay?
Either way, there's no way to win
Lucy:
All I know is I'm lost
and I'm counting the cost
My emotions are in a spin
And though no one's to blame...
Hyde:
It's a crime and a shame...
Lucy:
...but it's true all the same
It's a dangerous game!
Both:
No one speaks
Not one word
All the words are in our eyes
Silence speaks (echo: Silence speaks)
Loud and clear (echo: Loud and Clear)
All the words we want to hear!
At the touch of your hand
At the sound of your voice
At the moment your eyes meet mine
I am out of my mind
I am out of control -
Full of feelings I can't define!
Hyde:
It's a sin with no name
Like a tiger to tame
Lucy:
And though no one's to blame
Hyde:
It's a crime and a shame
Both:
And the angels proclaim:

Well, this is actually one of the most famous european musicals, which was never released in english (except for a really crappy Broadway-version where they changed so much that it can hardly even be called the same musical). And since there is no HQ-version with english subs available, I decided to make one myself, just like I did with the Monte Cristo-musical back when I started this channel.
I know this musical doesn't have anything to do with Ink Potts, but I hope some of you will still give it a chance, especially if vampires are something that interests you.
So what is it about? A professor and his student are going to Transylvania to find out if vampires are real. Jup, that's basically the story in a nutshell ^^
Personally this is one of my favorite musicals ever, I just love the characters, the humor and the story itself, but especially the atmosphere is just fantastic. Not to mention that it has some fantastic pieces of music. There's also some parallels to the Dracula-musical, so if you liked that one, I'm pretty sure you can enjoy this one as well (though this musical takes itself much less seriously).

I'm now back to the "Jekyll & Hyde"-songs, so excpect some more of those in the future. After that I'm going to move on to the more interesting "Dracula"-songs, and after that... who knows?
This song is one of the most underrated gems from the Jekyll & Hyde-musical, because for some reason, they decided to cut it from all the life performances =/ It (most likely) plays after Hyde murdered Lucy, and shows Jekyll slipping into insanity. I think the song gets this across pretty well ;-)

Lyrics:
The world has gone insane!
And parasites are eating at my brain!
And nothing is the way it was before!
A pack of wolves is howling at my door!
I’m living in a non-stop nightmare!
Dead men’s dreams!
Filled with screaming pain!
Hurling me to mad extremes
In a world that’s gone insane!
The world has lost its head!
And every evil hour is filled with dread!
I’m floating on a lake – but upside down!
And when I try to breathe,
I start to drown!
I cannot speak as
Nameless ghosts and faceless ghouls
Bid me join the dead!
No one tells these gruesome fools
That the world has lost its head!
Fiendish creatures leave their graves to taunt me!
Old friends risen from the dead to haunt me!
God forsaken images that daunt me,
Drowning in an endless flood of blood!
The world has gone beserk!
And hiding in the murk, new monsters lurk!
I see a sea of snakes upon the floor!
I see the reaper grinning at my door!
I scream in silence!
Bad is good, and good is bad!
Sacred is profane!
And it’s wiser to be mad…
In a world that’s gone insane!
On a side note, I actually wanted to make this my 2k sub special, but to be honest, I wasn't ready to play this song flawlessly at that point ^^' Hope you're all enjoying how this turned out though.

I'm sorry for the long break, I had to study for one big exam at University, but now that that's out of the way, I should have a little more time for this channel.
Anyways, some of you wanted to see me do more songs from Magpiepony, and since I currently can't continue with my Monte Cristo-synthesias (at least for the time being), I figured why not?
The ending was kinda hard to recreate, especially the part where Luna shouts at Celestia didn't really turn out as good as I had hoped. I still hope you can enjoy it =)
Original song name: Evelyn, Evelyn
Animatic this is based on by: Magpiepony (youtube.com/watch?v=FGhET-zTWJ8)
Lyrics:
Luna: Sorrowful
Celestia: Regretful
Luna: All of those years that I lost
Celestia: Memory comes at a cost
Luna: Those I trusted let me down
Celestia: Everything I tried to hide in my past
Luna: It’s too late to make it okay
Both: Right and wrong changes with
Celestia: time
Luna: Every old lie that’s told
Celestia: Every new truth revealed
Luna: Love and Loss
Celestia: I’ve known my share
Luna: we were inseparable
Celestia: I had looked up to her
Luna: How can I trust again?
Both: What will become of us?
Celestia: Can she learn to forgive?
Luna: And then suddenly he was gone…
Celestia: Will she be victorious?
Both: Was all our love for not?
Celestia: At least you are safe
Luna: How could he turn away from me…
Luna: Sorrowful
Celestia: Regretful
Luna: All of those years that I lost
Celestia: Memory comes at a cost
Luna: Those I trusted let me down
Celestia: Everything I tried to hide in my past
Luna: It’s too late to make it okay
Both: What I’d give to take it all
Celestia: back
Luna: back so I won’t get hurt
Celestia: So that I won’t hurt you
Luna: Foolish pride
Celestia: clouded my mind
Luna: I was blinded, I believed all those pretty lies
Celestia: so how can I fix this?
Luna: and how can we move on?
Celestia: I would give almost anything
Luna: I wish I could be ignorant
Celestia: I know I messed it up but
Both: I don’t deserve this
Luna: I want to forget it
Celestia: but it doesn’t work that way
Luna: Sorrowful
Celestia: Regretful
Luna: All of those years that I lost
Celestia: Memory comes at a cost
Luna: Those I trusted let me down
Celestia: Everything I tried to hide in my past
Luna: It’s too late to make it okay
Both: We both know sorrow and regret
Luna: You denied me my past
Celestia: I’m only trying to do what is best for us
Luna: Well I never asked for this, I never wanted this, all that I want is to be your equal
Celestia: Look into your heart, you’ll see that I…
Luna: Just get away from me, please cease your empty plea, you’re always trying to be somepony else. Now I realize I’m all alone
Celestia: But I’m right here by your side
Luna: but all that you’ve done is lied!
Celestia: Please do not turn away
Luna: There’s nothing that you can say!
Both:
You cannot understand, you’re always resistant
Just apologizing
I feel something missing
Celestia:
I just want my sister back
Why can’t we just get along?
Luna:
I just want to go away
Why can’t you leave me alone?
Yes, I'm trying out something a little different this time. Don't worry, I'm not abandoning my roots, this will probably stay a one-time thing.
So I guess some of you are familiar with Magpiepony, the creator of the "Pinkie Tales"-series and the "Princess Trixie Sparkle"-series among others. Her work is really good, so I suggest you check out her channel if you don't know her already. This song in particular is probably my favorite. It appears in Episode 9 of "Princess Trixie Sparkle" and features an original villain called Astelle alongside Trixie. It was too good to not make a Synthesia-Cover for it ;-)
Check out the animatic this is based on here: youtube.com/watch?v=ZrD2M4Rp5b4
Lyrics:
Astelle:
Here at last
you’ll finally have your chance
In your grasp
the means to seek your vengeance.
You will see
the life you should be living,
free from
her oppressive regime.
You’ve been hiding in the shadows,
waiting for the proper moment.
Now it’s time to attack the daylight
and claim what’s rightfully yours!
She will fall and be crushed
under me
Victim to my hate
Revenge
Then at long last
I will feel some peace
finally free
from her lies
Trixie:
She will fall and be crushed
(Astelle: She’ll be crushed)
Under me
Victim to my hate
(Astelle: The sweetest revenge)
Revenge
Then at long last
I will feel some peace
finally free
from her lies
Astelle:
Can you feel
a new surge of power
and at your hooves soon she will cower.
Deep inside
you know that she must pay.
Revenge
is the only way.
Trixie:
For too long I’ve had to suffer
Astelle:
Justice
for all of your pain
Trixie:
Living life is so much tougher
until she’s made to pay!
She will fall and be crushed
Under me
Victim to my hate
Revenge
Then at long last
I will feel some peace
finally free
from her lies
Trixie:
She will fall and be crushed
(Astelle: She’ll be crushed)
Under me
Victim to my hate
(Astelle: The sweetest revenge)
Revenge
Then at long last
I will feel some peace
finally free
from her lies
I can feel my power returning
A new purpose and direction to life
Both:
She will fall and be crushed
Under me
Victim to my hate
Revenge
Then at long last
I will feel some peace
finally free
from her lies
"Life after Life" is an awesome song, it's about Dracula resurrecting a girl named Lucy, who he had killed beforehand, bringing her back as a vampire.
In case you're wondering why the roles of Dracula and Lucy are played by Sombra and Luna: As I mentioned on my last Dracula-cover, Ink Potts will eventually make an animatic-series based on this musical (although it might take them a long time to get to it since they want to do numerous other musicals before this one), so I'm going with the same cast that they've chosen.

Dracula:
This is just the beginning, it isn't an end.
This isn't a funeral, it's more of a christening.
There's no need to wear black.
This is just what I came here for, and the war is begun.
I'm creating my dynasty, the dark side of the sun.
Life After Life! You won't need flowers on your grave.
You won't need prayers, you have no mortal soul to save.
No one should mourn, no one should ever shed a tear.
The reward I am offering, shines brighter than Gold.
Life After Life!
You are only the spirit, the first of my kind.
It's a matter of time before London belongs to us.
Dracula & Lucy:
Every night someone new, every victim a midnight feast.
They will fall one by one, and our empire will quickly grow.
The Dark side of the Sun!
Life After Life! This is the prize I give to you.
Find your new world, and see what damage you can do.
Together we will prowl these quiet moonlit streets.
Dracula:
Choose our prey carefully
Dracula & Lucy:
And let it begin!
Dracula:
Life After Life!
Go and quench your new thirst, drink the blood of the innocent!
Dracula & Lucy:
Those who are without sin, taste the sweetest of all!
Life After Life! You(I) won't need flowers on your(my) grave.
You(I) won't need prayers, you(I) have no mortal soul to save.
Together we will prowl these quiet moonlit streets.
Choose our prey carefully and let it begin.
Life After Life After Life After Life After Life
After Life After Life After Life After Life
After Life!
I'm not too happy with how this video turned out, I used two background images with slow transitions inbetween them, but these transitions turned out a bit blurry. I hope you'll still enjoy it.

Lyrics:
Can a sky be so indifferent,
Can what once was true be true no more,
can this life be an illusion,
just an illusion my broken heart can't ignore?
He was gone but not forgotten,
in each ocean breeze, he lived again
Can his heart, distant and clever
be lost forever, be lost forever?
When all this time, all these years,
all those nights I was looking for the star we share.
Remembering all of our plans and dreams.
Now it seems It's me that's been a fool for all this time.
Tell me no, say that it's all a lie
and let me go back to the hope I have.
For all this time, all these years
all those nights I was looking for the star we share.
Remembering our love's first kiss, but more than this,
give me what's been mine for all this time!
Ok now, this song... is not important at all in the musical, but I still like it. The melody is just so upbeat and fun to listen to, even though what's actually happening during the song is a little more ... morally questionable ;-) I wasn't sure if I should cut out the beginning part since it sounds so different from the actual song, but I decided to leave it in anyways.
So what's the story behind this song? Edmond Dashie is in Rome and resists the temptation of other mares because he loves Shycedes so much. I know, really deep ;-)

On an unrelated note, I'm sorry for the lack of updates lately, but unfortunatelly university has kept me quite busy. I already started working on the next two Synthesia's, so I'll try to give you new videos a little more frequently, but I can't make any promises.

These BG-images are getting better and better. Make sure to check out StupidFlyingXXFOX(http://stupidflyingxxfox.deviantart.com/art/The-golden-sun-was-warmer-then-588125791) for more!
My friend StupidFlyingXXFOX really outdid herself with her background-artwork this time, so I tried my hardest to create a Synthesia cover worthy of having such a beautiful artwork as background. I hope I didn't disappoint ^^
And with this, I conclude my first year here on YouTube. I never imagined that my videos would reach so many people, and even inspire a few too. Now I want to take this moment to thank all of my fans for all the support you have given me. You guys are all truly amazing, and I'm looking forward to creating more videos for you in 2016 =) Happy New Year!

This song was actually incribibly frustrating to create, because all the lyrics are more spoken than sung, which makes it pretty difficult to get them to sound good in the transcription. Getting the tempo right in a song like this is also very annoying. And to top it all off, it doesn't even sound that good if it's only played by the piano, which adds to the frustration :-/ But I hope you still enjoy it.
Anyways, I'm sorry that I've kept you all waiting. I should be able to finish the next one during Christmas break =)

Lyrics:
Wealth beyond imagining I see ev'rywhere!
Ev'rywhere!
Miracle of miracle I see glistening,
dazzling!
Now there is not a single thing beyond my reach.
Now I can become anyone I need to ... or want to.
All the treasure here and more I owe to a friend,
old and worn.
It was he who taught me all until I'd comprehend,
be reborn.
Repeat again he'd always say. The pries
would teach.
The lessons I've learned are alive in me now
but just for a moment I need to remember a promise.
Sails made of silk,
bearing ships full of silver.
Diamonds like stars in the skies.
Mountains of gold,
full of emeralds and opals,
more than a feast for the eyes.
Suffer no more fortune's arrows and slings,
Living like men,
free once again,
finally when we are kings!

Lyrics:
Mercedes:
My God, my heart beats faster
And my mind is racing
Could it be…?
Could it be that you’ve come back to life?
I know those eyes following me
Dark and familiar and deep as the sea
I know that face, strange though it seems
Younger and kinder it haunts all my dreams
How can you stand there?
A whisper from me
Yet, somehow be so far away
In eyes once familiar how stranger I seem
With so many words left to say
Monte Cristo:
This man is dead
He is no more
He died a little each day
Like a thief, the Chateau D’If has stolen him away
The mind plays tricks
You are confused
The man you seek is long gone
Dead and cold
A story told
By those he trusted, those he loved, and those who then moved on
Both singing different lyrics at the same time:
Monte Cristo:
I am a ghost
Just a mirage
Who chases traces of you
Mercedes:
There in that voice
Traces of you
Dark and familiar and deep as the sea
Monte Cristo:
This man is dead
He is no more
And though it’s torturing me
Mercedes:
I know those eyes
Torturing me
Both:
Can either of us really ever be free?
How can you stand there?
A whisper from me
When you are still so far away
And why does the truth seem too hard to be true?
With so much broken
Monte Cristo:
And so much damage
Both:
There are no words
Monte Cristo:
Left to say

As for the song itself, I really struggled to make it sound more emotional and soft, like Weim Time managed to do in his 'I will be there'-cover, but I can't even come close to what he did...well hope you can still enjoy it.

English lyrics:
Mercedes:
We must find our own forgiveness
Edmond:
If forgiveness can be found
for Mondego and the others I have wronged...
Mercedes:
It was not your choice,
it was him and his vengeance and not the sword you drew
that has run him through.
When I look at you I feel it,
even after all these years.
There's a part of me that never let you go.
Edmond:
I can feel it too,
like the pull of a tide reaching back from yesterday,
wash my sins away.
I will be there,
beside you,
for whatever time is ours.
I will be your
forgiveness through it all.
I will be there
Edmond and Mercedes:
as constant as the star that we will share,
this do I swear:
I will be there.
German lyrics:
Mercedes:
Wir vertrauen auf Gottes Gnade...
Edmond:
Niemals allein
gemeinsam sind wir für einander da.
Was auch geschieht,
ich werde dir verzeihn.
Niemals allein
Edmond & Mercedes:
solange unser Stern am Himmel scheint
wird es so sein! Niemals allein!
I don't know how many of you have seen the 'Dracula'-musical, but it's one of my favorite musicals, that's why I'm also going to make covers for some of the songs from it. Ink Potts also announced a while ago that they're going to make an animatic series based on that musical too, with Sombra in the role of Dracula and Celestia as Van Helsing, and I'm really looking forward to that too.
This is my favorite song from the musical, it plays when Van Helsing confronts Dracula and they have an epic duel. Just like most of the 'The Count of Monte Cristo'-songs, there's no high-quality of this song with the english lyrics either because this was one of the songs they added to the musical later on, when it premiered in Europe. There's a pretty good german version though, starring Thomas Borchert (who you should know, he's the voice of Edmond Dantés in both the english and the german version of the 'Count of Monte Cristo'-musical) and Uwe Kröger (who's another really famous german actor), so please check it out if you like this song:

Lyrics:
Dracula:
She is already mine,
you have lost.
You put up a heroic fight.
Run away while you can,
or you'll die.
How dare you challenge my might?
Your wasted years led nowhere powerless old fool.
Van Helsing:
She will never be yours,
mark my word,
I won't let you take Mina's life!
Your life is at an end,
we won't grieve
for somebody's daughter or wife.
This world has seen some monsters but not one so cruel!
Both:
It's Over!
It's Over!
The Battle's done!
Why don't you just surrender to me?
You must know I have won!
It's over!
All over!
Deep down you know!
There is no sign of victory,
only my fatal blow!
Dracula:
You keep your stupid heads
in your books
but its done you no good at all.
You are still in the dark,
endless dark...
Van Helsing:
I can't wait to be there when you fall.
Think of all the lives you've taken.
Evil to the core!
Dracula:
I still have hundreds of years
left to live
and there's rivers of blood out there.
You'll be long dead by then,
all you men
only live for a few desperate years.
You waste those years by praying,
I have so much more...
Both:
It's Over!
It's Over!
The Battle's done!
Why don't you just surrender to me?
You must know I have won!
It's over!
All over!
Deep down you know!
There is no sign of victory,
only my fatal blow!
Van Helsing:
Soon you will be facing death
Make the most of your last breath
Dracula:
All your life you've lived a lie.
Every day I live you die.
I will kill you if I must!
Van Helsing:
I'll soon watch you turn into dust!
Both:
It's over!
It's over!
The Battle's done!
In time you'll surrender to me?
You can see I have won!
It's over!
All over!
Your heart must know!
There is no sign of victory,
only my fatal blow!
Very soon we will know
which of us has to go!
You might want to turn down the volume a little this time. For some strange reason, this one turned out quite loud :-/

Lyrics:
Faria:
You must go on for the world waits before you.
Leave me to rest for a while.
Look to your heart and remember our lessons
and when you think of me, smile.
Now I will leave one more treasure to you:
Learn to live and forgive.
Edmond:
I will return with an army to find you,
breaking this place, stone by stone.
Rubys and gold will bedazzle and blind you.
Faria:
Riches the world's never known.
Crushing the dungeons with wealth unsurpassed,
when we are kings at last.
Feed the poor, protect the weak.
Edmond:
By the justice that we seek.
Faria:
Leave the past behind in mercy's name.
Edmond:
When we are kings we'll make the world as true as you, my friend.
When we are kings, what's ours we will reclaim.
Faria:
Sails made of silk
bearing ships full of silver,
diamonds like stars in the skies.
Edmond:
Mountains of gold, full of emeralds and opals,
more than a feast for the eyes.
Faria:
Suffer no more fortune's arrows and slings.
Edmond:
Living like men,
Faria:
Living like men,
Edmond:
Free once again.
Faria:
Free once again,
finally,...
Edmond:
...when we are kings.
This time I tried something new: Changing backgrounds. There's so much stuff happening in this song that one background wouldn't really be enough to cover it all, so I'm using three backgrounds this time to tell the story of how Edmond Dashie met Abbé Faria and how they planned their escape from the Château D'If.
A huge thanks to my friend StupidFlyingXXFOX (youtube.com/channel/UCT0OXDRaLbv1JVGYHftRXtQ/about) for beeing kind enough to draw all three artworks used in this video. This wouldn't be possible without you =)

Lyrics:
Faria:
I have learned a thing or two about the ways of men.
Many skills you'll learn before we're through.
We'll have time to practice them and practice them again.
Till, like breathing in and out, they're part of you.
First of all: Can you write? (Edmond: Well...)
You must learn to read and write,
not like a peasant but a knight,
you'll learn to write.
Words,
you will speak like a noble, not a sailor who has spent his life at sea,
ev'ry syllable another note that builds a melody, ah mais oui.
And to think.
You must think!
Learn to reason using logic till you've straightened ev'ry kink,
learn to see beyond the obvious until you find the hidden link.
Edmond:
Teach me all you know, how to read and write, how to speak and think.
Faria:
And be erudite!
Edmond:
Study all day long.
Faria:
Dig to freedom through the night!
Edmond:
When we are free and far away,
I will return to my Marseille
where dear Mercedes will be waiting.
Then, when she is in my arms at last,
I'll make the future change the past
until it's gone, yes gone forever!
Faria:
Sometimes the past won't let go quite so easily.
Sometimes the truth isn't quite what is seems to be.
So never linger too long in a dream that's moved on.
--pause--
Faria:
Now again ... and again,
till the thrust is second nature you'll repeat this regimen,
and then, once you have perfected it repeat the repetition again.
Now the lunge... throw the stone,
clap your hands and close the distance with your back against the wall,
keep your lead foot moving forward till you catch the stone before it can fall.
Close your eyes now, close them tight,
and then tell me all the names of ev'ry person that you've met,
see their faces in a context that you never ever will forget.
Edmond:
There are three: Danglars, Mondego and a face,
one with a name I can't quite place,
these are the people I remember.
All of the rest are but a blur,
all of the rest, except for her.
She is the reason I keep going.
Knowing she's there!
Faria:
You've got to set this anger free!
Edmond:
It drives me on.
Faria:
But it will kill the man you still can be.
--pause--
Edmond:
I will be for them a mirror that I hold before their eyes.
I'll become the true reflection of the worst of their lies.
I will offer no forgiveness,
I'll be like time and tide.
I will seek them out, let them run and hide!
Faria:
Revenge is not the way my friend, it never ends too well,
it eats the one who feeds it and sends him straight to hell.
--the tunnel collapses--
Edmond:
You will be fine,
God in heaven, my one friend in the world,
do not take him, my one friend in the world,
please awaken him, I beg you...
Give us this day,
just a day of freedom, warmed by your sun,
just a night of freedom when day is done.
God in heaven, won't you save him?
I think Scootaloo works great for the role of Albert, since she adors Rainbow Dash, just like Albert adores the Count.
