Rando ArchiveFinally, a clean HD version of this beautiful opening. I uploaded a carefully scaled DVD rip years ago, but now we have the best one we're probably going to get.
The introduction to Dirty Pair: Project Eden is beautiful in so many ways. It was done by Koji Morimoto for Sunrise. He later went on to co-found Studio 4°C. Morimoto was clearly inspired by James Bond openings, but pulled it off better than any Bond opening in my opinion. The materials animations are astounding. The scenes are works of art, using interesting color palettes and compositions. Every single frame is a beautiful illustration. This opening was so good. There is no way the movie would live up to it.

They ran their own music over everything, and it seems no one paid attention, but as a long-time Sega fan, I took note of this first look at Golden Axe: Beast Rider. I assumed the footage would be released soon after, or that someone would record it, but no one did. In fact, no one seemed to remember anything of the sort. I emailed the development company, but they of course didn't respond. I occasionally searched for years, but came up with nothing.
I was quite surprised when I decided to search for it today, and found that someone did a small write-up about this video. Though Secret Level was developing the game, before really starting development, they asked Blur Studio to render a short scene that would give a feel for the target gameplay. The video was completed in December 2005. It got both the development studio and Sega excited for the game, which is why Sega decided to show it off at E3 2006.

The best quality video we have is from an ancient VHS of the Spanish dub, released in Spain. I adore this scene, and honestly love several aspects of the fight.Murphys Irish Stout: Last Orders (1997) AI Scaled to 1080PRando Archive2020-05-16 | This was a really well animated and cool cyberpunk commercial for beer from 1997. It was only available in SD. I've been messing with AI scaling recently, and thought the results were pretty good on this one. Looks a lot better before Youtube compression, but still looks better than SD here, especially from 0:18 on.Jim Lee Interview about the Wild C.A.T.s 90s cartoon.Rando Archive2020-05-12 | This is from a rare DVD of the 90's Wild C.A.T.s cartoon.Japanese Final Fantasy retrospective from 2008Rando Archive2020-05-04 | This was a retrospective short from 2008, included on the Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete DVD. Found this random episode on an old second gen VHS tape from TV. It ran from 1995-96, and was one of my favorite anime shows when I was a teenage weeb. I very much enjoyed the Canadian wrestlers on this episode for their heavy Canadian accented Japanese. It had a lot of fun characters like the monkey who carries around a karaoke microphone like a security blanket, or the rabbit who is seemingly sexually aroused by putting her body parts into crevices. The Super Dimension Fortress Macross (2003) PS2 game promo videoRando Archive2018-12-01 | Promo video for Macross on PlayStation 2Bionic Six Intro (1987) [TMS] (best quality I could find)Rando Archive2018-12-01 | This is the best quality I could find. I've watched the one on youtube a lot, but this one is much better quality. I got it off an old DVD I had released by the Video Game Commercial Archive.

I haven't seen this anywhere, and would love to see a translation, but it's pretty long at one and a half hours. I just figure I should put this up for historic preservation, and hope that someone can contribute (Gear Icon→Subtitles→Add Subtitles). You can turn on Auto-Translated subtitles in the settings of the video if you are willing to deal with that. Be warned, it's auto-translated from their Japanese speech-detection, so there are a couple layers of automation there, creating mostly nonsense like "Same Dalai Lama particular there and rankings about one kilometer."Work and Play (2007), sitcom about game developmentRando Archive2017-08-08 | Found this on an old harddrive. It's an Australian sitcom about game development. This was released just after The IT Crowd, and I think it may have seen that show as a sign that people could want geeky sitcoms. I cringed hard watching this originally, but I guess now I admire that they attempted it with almost zero production budget. After some research in the wayback machine, I found information on it:
Production Date: January 7th 2007 Genre: Comedy Starring: Paul Callaghan, Kate Inabinet, Ian Malcolm, Garth Midgley, Heath Smith Written and Directed by: Thuyen Nguyen Length: 9 minutes Sypnosis: A journalist comes to Beepford Games to do some research for a magazine article. As long as the employees behave themselves, everything should be fine...Trailer for Thousand Land on Xbox (12-20-2002)Rando Archive2017-08-04 | I loved this game so much that I actually made a translation patch. I have no idea where I was in the project when I left it.Bomb Meister - Unreleased FMV gameRando Archive2017-07-22 | There seems to be no information about this online. It's just known that this was going to be an FMV game. The date on the file I have is June 12, 2003, but I'm certain that's just the download date, and the file is older.

This opening exists elsewhere on Youtube, but I wanted one with the correct aspect ratio and of higher video quality. In the other versions, all the circles are ovals, and the women were even skinnier than they already were normally. The source video was not HD, but was upscaled to retain quality. I would love to see a blu-ray release of this movie, even if mostly for the opening.
UPDATE: The blu-ray box set was released. Clean opening uploaded here. youtu.be/91oqZjZTw7QThe Wavy Tube Man Chronicles - Xbox 360 - LongplayRando Archive2016-08-30 | This isn't my playthrough, but I was surprised that there wasn't a longplay without commentary on youtube. I edited this video down as far as I could. The talking went on absolutely forever before this, and kept going after. I adore MGS games, but the speeches realllllly drag on. I MAYBE see what they were trying to go for, but they'd have gone a LOT farther on that point if they skipped the video and just included a woman or two on their development team.
Basically: Hot woman to other hot woman: "I'd do ANYTHING for a game that has a female protagonist and logic puzzles." *guys' ears perk up*
