Valerie Hegarty speaks with us about her work, “Fallen Bierstadt,” which is on view as part of the Museum Spotlight: Changing Landscapes in the American Art galleries. Hegarty and the other artists featured in this installation of works from our collection capture and respond to the dramatic transformations of the North American landscape—due to pollution, oppression, and natural disasters—over the last 200 years.
