God still heals people today, just as He did in the 1st century, and in the Old Testament times. But Christians should be careful not to place too heavy an emphasis on physical healing, or presume that certain individuals or churches have the power to physically heal, because the Creator of the universe cannot be obligated (or manipulated), to heal all physical ailments, whether chronic or acute. Physical healing – while miraculous – is temporary, because everyone will still one day experience physical death. Our physical bodies in this natural world remain subject to diseases and accidents. However, spiritual healing is also miraculous and permanent, when a person accepts that Jesus willingly offered Himself on the cross in our place, for our sin that spiritually separates us from God.
