Are US-Bound Teslas Made in China? Kim Java 2023-05-06 | This isn’t the first time that reports have come out that Tesla was possibly planning on importing its cars from China to both the US and Canada. A few months ago, Reuters had an exclusive report which had confidential sources at Tesla which reported this would start to happen and most people discounted it off the bat.The report mentioned that some of Teslas considerations were on whether parts by Tesla’s China-based suppliers would be compliant with regulations in the US and Canada. The update is now rolling out and owners are providing mixed reviews as far as its function and capabilities in this early stage. Last October, Tesla announced it would stop producing ultrasonics sensors on its Model 3 and Y and recently did the same for all Model S and X's.
