DIY PCB Manufacture (Toner Transfer, Ferric Chloride, Liquid Tin) Dave Hunt 2020-08-30 | Here's a run through of the method I use for prototype PCBs. That's if I'm too impatient to wait for OSHPark or similar, or if I only need a few single sided boards. This uses photo paper in a laser printer to iron on the design, then Ferric Chloride to etch, and finally Liquid Tin to protect the final copper layer.
Raspberry Pi Zero with High Quality Camera as USB Webcam Dave Hunt 2020-05-29 | Raspberry Pi in usb-otg mode with a Raspberry Pi High Quality Camera working as a plug-and-play Webcam. Not using the g_ether gadget or networking of any kind. When you plug it into a USB port on your PC, the Pi boots, enables the relevant USB-OTG drivers and runs a UVC gadget app which causes the Pi to appear as a UVC Camera to the PC.

Failed decade-old waterproof enclosure Dave Hunt 2018-05-05 | This was a WiFi distribution node in the mid 2000's, providing broadband (if you could call it that) to the local community (shared 1mbps ADSL line). It was mounted on a pole on my roof, exposed all year around to the Irish weather. We had a mesh network of nodes, of which this was one. Has not been used in at least 5 years, probably a lot longer. But when it was in use, it worked great.

EvvGC Camera Stabiliser First Test Dave Hunt 2014-04-06 | This is the first outing of my completed DLSR camera stabiliser based on the open-hardware EvvGC controller board. The gimbal frame and motors are from China. I've been at this for a few months now, and could never get it to stabalise, but this weekend I stripped down and re-built it, focussed on where the vibration was and eventually managed to get rid of it. Placement of the sensor board is crucial, as it wasn't firmly screwed on to the gimbal, and was one of the main sources of vibration. Tuning takes hours, but with patience, will settle eventually, once everything else is set up ok.
