A Guide to Progressive Victory w/ Destiny (DGG Canvassing Documentary) Will and His Channel 2024-04-04 | In February I had the pleasure of getting behind-the-scenes access to the canvassing efforts of Destiny's Team and Progressive Victory. Although I have been critical of this space before, it's safe to say that I am pretty proud of what was able to accomplished by the 300 DGGers that took time out of their lives to support canvassing efforts. LEXIT vs The Santee YMCA | Will on the Street Will and His Channel 2023-01-23 | Hey there everybody, I'm Will and this is my channel.On Saturday January 21st there was a protest that was held at the Santee YMCA in my hometown of San Diego, CA. An incident involving a transgender woman using the women's locker room at the Y, began to get attention when the "victim," a 17 year old girl named Rebecca spoke in front of the Santee City Council. Before long the story was elevated in front of a national audience when Tucker Carlson had Rebecca on his show to push an anti-trans news segment.Why do I think that this women's intentions were specifically anti trans? The most glaring reason is because she was claiming on various news sites that she had seen the elderly woman's genitalia, which is an impossibility, because the woman in question had gender affirming care many, many, years before the incident where Rebecca "saw the mans backside and returned to the private shower" as she puts it. You will see this claim that a "man with dick and balls" was in the woman's locker rooms by many of the people at this protest. This is without a doubt, false, but I think speaks to the power and propaganda of social media and Fox news, which must be where I assume the majority of these people get their news and information. Oddly enough, most people believed trans people existed and thought that if a trans person went through and completely medically transitioned, they would have had no issue with this trans person using the woman's locker room. I guess they all missed the part where CBS interviewed Christynne Wood where she confirmed that she had in fact completely medically transitioned.What initially drew my interest was the conservative group organizing the rally. They are known as "LEXIT." Think "BLEXIT" but with Latinos instead. LEXIT stands for Latinos Exiting the Democratic Party, although truthfully I doubt they were ever there to begin with.Their organization has its roots in the Born Again Christian Movement, which means you can already make a wide variety of accurate assumptions about the beliefs of the people in this group, anti gay, anti trans, pro-God and the Bible before all else.I did my best to try and interview a wide variety of people at the rally. I tried to get as many counter protesters as I could on camera, people who were PRO LGBTQ+ rights, but there were literally 5 people there, and the 2 I got on video was when I had terrible signal and the footage was scuffed.It goes without saying, massive trigger warning to any LGBTQ+ people watching this video. I was there as a journalist to see what it was that these people think, not provide my own opinion or to push back against them. If you haven't been living under a rock since my last video, then you are aware of the war that is ongoing in Ukraine. If I am being honest with you guys, I’m not 100% how I feel about it other than I wish it wasn't happening and my thoughts are with the defenders in this instance, Ukraine.I have been exposed to some interesting ideas as of late, specifically the difference between relative and universal ethics, the consent of the human body during conscription or when drafted, and the idea that waging war for democracy might be the only way to defend against global fascism.It’s hard to wrap my head around some of these topics as someone who remembers vividly being in first grade watching footage of the Twin Towers collapsing and growing up with a war in the Middle East presented as a feature of growing up in the USA instead of a bug. Just as confusing are my feelings as a 27 year adult man watching in horror as the United States left Afghanistan in late 2021. That month my apartment complex took in 7 refugee families free of charge that were airlifted straight out of Kabul. To put one of the men's opinions simply, he wished that America had stayed and that he was in the home that he grew up in.These questions were already on my mind, but they have been amplified since my conversation with today's guest.Today's video features one of my favorite streamers as well as twitch's favorite liberal hawk, Kevin Castley of Superpower Broadcasting.Kevin has been one of these streamers I have been following for awhile, I saw him originally on the Hippy Dippy Debate panels doing something very intriguing.In the same 3 or 4 hour time period, Castley would excellently defend a topic. Then the topic would change and he would find himself debating against every single person that agreed with him on the previous topic. If I had to describe Castley I would say that he definitely knows what his morals are and he is very conscious of how he frames the world stemming from these universal morals and ethics.
