When A Woman is Around Part 21f Birdisjell 2024-04-19 | Yooo helloooo!!So this was completed back in December 2023!! Whoa!! Taking my time uploading stuff lol. Anyway I was so so excited to get to be in this map aaa!! When I was first getting into maps and discovering them, this is one of the ones I was REALLY excited about, I adored the art direction for it sm at the time and I still do :)) So this was super awesome and I'm so happy I got to make this!!! I had a really fun time with it and got to pull off this kinda eye shot that I've boarded for myself SEVERAL times and never finished one UNTIL NOW BABAYEEE !! um um other tidbits I tried to make Bramble lipsync "WHAT??" and Squilf "HEY!" (and a no from leaf :'')) and uhhh it lines up awfully well with the song lyrics so that might've been a bust actually D: well i guess even if my intentions aren't clear I hope it still looks cool lol. Also I flipped the original composition I did bc I noticed a lot of REALLY cool stuff lined up with other people's parts and where they're placed in the full shot with all the squares when I did that, SO I DID IT HAHAHA I'm actually so thrilled about it and I'm really excited it ended up aligning like that!! In fact I'm going to put down all the parallels I thought about/saw here for funsies so I personally can remember for future LOL (Lion and Jay look up in Holly's direction at Kalublah's part in top right corner; Leaf looks to the left at the Windclan trio who is focused on at the same timeee AAA by Pokefan1241's part in the bottom left corner; Leaf ends facing the right, and NotSoMagic's/SolarSparky's part directly to the right of mine has Holly facing the leftttt at the end looking down at her AAAA) Maybe there will be more as people keep working... but these are the ones I thought about when I decided to go for a flip :DDAlso I have no Hollyleaf!! Animation 2022 Birdisjell 2023-01-01 | [CW for animal death (she faints :( ) at 1:36 and creepy monster stuff at 2:02, but that's it β€]Happy New Year :)It has been. A year. haha. β€Lots of ups and downs, but looking back at it... I made wayyy more than I thought I could O_O this video is five minutes long and two minutes straight of it is fully completed animation. Not even including all the background work in there and all the stuff I'm still working on or haven't posted or even all the illustration I did and my gosh-dang thesis???Speaking of, it's been hard to feel productive since I'm right in the thick of creating thesis stuff right now, but... I did a lot more than I thought I did. Which is really... that just makes me happy. Usually I feel really slow and like I'm not making stuff, but I kinda did! That's cool for me! :DHere's what I wrote at the end of the video, since I think it's about a good summary of my feelings (and so you can just read this if that's easier, lol, word-splurge time):"Thank you all for such a wonderful year!!! In which Flowergrace creates Starclan :))WEEE it was literally such a pleasure to do this part for Noah's Ark's sequel map!! It's lore time :) This is a big one OvOSo! As I might have said before, my Warriors OCs are an au version of my original story/universe but in a Warriors setting! In light of that, some of the details from the original Warriors universe are a bit different... And one of the most important things is Starclan.Here, legends say that the world was crafted by four siblings referred to as the First Folk. (Technically, you've sort of seen all four of them already if you were around to see my Constellations part ;) You might have seen two in the flesh, and that's Flowergrace and Lakesight)An incident occurs (Hollow Moon map part...) that upsets their peaceful world and Flowergrace finds herself completely alone, save for twelve faithful followers. But she is not powerful enough to restore balance to the world alone... so she comes up with a plan (Noah's Ark map part π and yes. the cat directly in front of her here is good old Friend).Flowergrace splits her flowery heart into twelve pieces - one for each of her faithful friends - sacrificing herself to disperse her power among them and multiply theirs, and they become known as Starclan. Starclan are a powerful but withheld force in the world, a council of Twelve that act as guides to healers and leaders of clans, restoring balance and doling out justice as they see fit. They safeguard the starry spirits of cats in the constellations wreathed around their tails, and generally keep to themselves, lurking amongst the stars in the distant sky unless the clans are in dire need.Though Starclan tends to act in unison and the clans have long since forgotten their individual names (which Starclan also tends to keep secret from them, as their names have power), each of the Twelve have their own legends and titles that have been passed down through generations.In order of appearance from left to right (not including Flowergrace of course, who is in the middle), these cats are "The Winterwind" (Ripplechill), "The Piercer" (Boldspark), "The Teller" (Chaossong), "The Silverlight" ('Friend' (you don't get to know his name yet, that's spoiler territory now :) ), "The Radiant" (Goldenlight), "The Timekeeper" (Thymepiece), "The Spacemaker" (Cometflight), "The Springgust" (Petaldust), "The Summerwind" (Beetleblossom), "The Blossomer" (Lilybloom), "The Autumnfall" (Patchworkpale), and "The Seer" (Tallmount).(The split-screen shot (dead working on that π) has them all arranged in the circular order they're in around Flowergrace. The Bugbear MAP got completed and I couldn't be happier about it :)) It turned out lovely and you should go see it if you haven't!!I got to do a couple of things for the map that I'm glad I got to!! Feline Fine Lo-fi MAP Part 38 Birdisjell 2022-12-11 | In which Leaf tries to decipher the old language in a forgotten underwater train station.Yoooo so I finished this part in early October and have been waiting to upload it and now it's finally here!! I'm super excited about it. I originally had a completely different part that I had planned to be with Swirl in her little art studio, but there was a bit of a mix-up and instead of getting the part after this one I ended up getting this one instead! Very different audio and color palette lol... but I'm actually pretty glad it happened because now this can exist!!!! :DD Super stoked about that. I really wanted to work with those "train" sounds and I thought a scene like this would be perfect. The intention was to pull off a "lo-fi loop" and while it's kind of off at the end because I wanted the sign change to match the music drop, I hope it's close enough to feel like it's there :))If enough people bug me about it maybe I will make it loop correctly and for like... an hour... with music I can use... but idk... maybe? if you want it enough? lolAnywho this part features a little character of mine named Leaf!! Crystals MAP Part 20 (collab with @owlipoppen) and Part C4 Birdisjell 2022-11-20 | This one is ooolldd, a very long time coming. I was waiting for the map to finish because I had a credits part I didn't want to share until it was out, and then... He cannot be perceived or remembered. However, he is also gifted with Blessings! Essentially, if someone gets their hands on one of his Letters of Blessing (which is exactly what it sounds like), they can see and remember him. It unfortunately ends when the Letter dissipates. Post has been disappointed too many times by that. He unfortunately cannot manifest Letters purposefully, they only manifest at random, so he spends his days reluctantly delivering them and immediately fleeing the scene. Starless Night MAP Part 2-10 (β CW!!) Birdisjell 2022-10-16 | β CW/TW for unsettling creepy things and mild body horror in this particular part. A bigger warning for animal death, heavy body horror, Gore/blood, and unsettling/creepy themes for the rest of the map project. Please do not proceed if any of these make you uncomfortable! β₯Wow okay, this is NOT the genre I usually gravitate to, I'm not really the biggest fan of horror or adjacent themes SLDKFJ but I just had to give this map a shot!! The choose-your-own-adventure concept and ideas behind it were so cool and fascinating... I had this particular idea already just roiling around in my head when I applied, so it was an absolute pleasure to be able to bring it to life!!Doing the final parallax was an absolute nightmare though. Tried out After Effects and I timed it nicely only to have to START OVER COMPLETELY because I forgot that it defaults to 30 fps when I work in 24 π So that was pleasant!! /sAlso I'm sorry for tracking the flying guys so terribly in the close-ups, I did my best but i made them move so fast GAH πAlsooo I think I made a terrible thumbnail for this but man I didn't think I could include anything in ittt πOk OTHER than all that, I had a great time :) Animating the little walkies was super fun. Constellations - Warriors OC MAP Part 11 Birdisjell 2022-01-19 | Back in the day, Shimmerwish's mentor Melonheart told her all the old stories about the First Folk, Starclan, every whisker and tale that could be heard or found about the beginning of the Clans of the Valley Green. On a rainy summer night in the middle of a long and winding journey together, Marigoldkit asks for a story, and of course there's only one possible thing Shimmerwish can do...Yoooo I've done it! I've been working on these for the past five months on and off, basically in order, and just sped-run the last one so I can enter college with one less worry!! C: This was the last map part I had with a definite deadline, woot woot β€Our assignment for this map was to take a part from three different sections of it, each in a different aspect ratio, and use those three parts to tell our villain's story! I was initially going to make this all about Belline, but I quickly realized that her story is pretty entwined with Drissian's, so now I have this. Doesn't look like much now, but it was once. And it wasn't too long ago, either. 15B: Basically you know tfw you make a public apology to somebody in front of literally everybody, but the person you're apologizing to proceeds to reject your apology and also slander and threaten you in the same breath, in front of literally everybody? yeah.Oof, this is a doozy. From right to left, we have Swirl (Personal guard of and sister to Melonheart), King Mahogany and his Second, Melonheart, Queen Lavender and her personal guard, Jellereele, Queen Bloom and her Second, Koi, Queen Soulsong and her Second, Ghastius, Kings Night, Day, and Veritas, King Aerius and his Second, Junie, and finally ya boi King Drissian and his Second, Belline, in front of a very nice humble crowd of the peoples these titans rule over. 17C: Belline and Drissian choose violence :OThis one's more on the symbolic side, although what is happening pretty much did happen, just not exactly as depicted. Idk if that makes any sense. :''DMost every silhouette is a background character, except for Melonheart and Mahogany. And of course you have Drissian and Belline, and that unnameable dude behind the throne who's been in two other map parts D: who is that, i can't tell you yet asldfkj O-OEvery single character besides our two villains and... the dude... has something very important in common with each other. The lace might clue you in on what it is. Also, Melonheart's tears (:C) are that color on purpose (admittedly, that hint is a little out there. I didn't want to draw her eyes because drama so I compromised. That's another hint :p ). Belline was... difficult... to animate, per usual. The tweening for that third shot where it pulls back and she jumps was DDD: I did it in Krita, I knew I was asking for it, but dang, asldkfjl :'''''D And to boot, it was nightmare to edit D: I made dumb mistakes that I had to go back and fix, and ended up having to re-edit the entire thing in Premiere Pro because Davinci glitched the final render for no apparent reason other than to completely waste my time :C So lol. Ouch.Other than all that, I guess it turned out okay? :''D I have mixed feelings about it, but I think that nightmare editing process is tainting my perception. The Truth is a Cave MAP Part 13 Birdisjell 2021-07-29 | Melonheart, my beloved~ β€Okiii, firstly thank you for 600!! ;;0;; that is super cool and amazing and I'm so blown away by all the support asdflkj!! I really can't express how grateful I am! Thank you so so much!! πAlso I'm being unnaturally active on this channel, lol, I'm not usually :0 I guess I'm just speedrunning a bunch of parts at once it seems, lol :''D I was backup (again, lol) and got this part a little over a week ago haha, so speedrun yes :'')Now about the part!! It's for an experimental map, whose main rule was that you can't use digital art or animation (or at least, traditionally digital stuff? That sounds like an oxymoron, lol) - the only digital stuff should just be editing and whatnot. So you could do traditional art, animation, stop motion, photography, all that jazz!! It's really cool, we're almost done with the map and everyone's parts are so neat and awesome! OoO πSo for my part, everything you see is watercolor painting! I hand-painted all my assets on mixed-media paper~ The only digital is the editing, tweening, a a few touch-ups (my scanner has dust particles in it, lol), and a very light yellow overlay on the first background (which is a scanned in piece of plain white paper), and a slight dark overlay on the background of the last shot, to help Melonheart stand out just a tad more. But yeah! That's it! :D Sorry about the sketches being so light, haha. I know they're hard to see D: I needed to make it so that it wouldn't be too present in the end result!It's a little rough because I did indeed speedrun it, but I hope you like it anyway~ uwu For context, the little sheep bab is Melonheart! Storm King Warriors OC MAP Part 19 Birdisjell 2021-06-30 | THE BEAST. IT IS FINISHED. β€Smol babie Marigoldkit and her overprotective, gruff uncle/guardian Shadefright finally exit the Forest and enter the Meadowlands~ πFirst animation with these two knuckleheads!! Lol, haha, I feel like I've been fighting this map part since almost the beginning. It started with me saying "I wanna make him walk across the screen!!" and it all went downhill from there x_x I have spent SO long redrawing lines, doing little extra things, fixing stupid stuff, and feeling generally frustrated with myself and my work and how dumb and l o n g I was taking with it AHH! But now it's done! And I'm... pretty happy. :) There's stupid mistakes still, and stuff I just couldn't get right, as there always is, but I worked so hard on it, and it's the best animation I've done so far, so... it's okay~ β€ Still kinda terrified that I will never get any better than where I am, but I think I'm improving, even if only a little, so that's good~ :')Also Marigoldkit looks cute as hecc and I am reminded how much I luv my little baby beanie~ uwu πalso Shade is fluffy I guess haha I'm kidding I love him too uwu πAs a fun fact all my Warriors OCs are actually my original characters in a Warriors AU setting, so OwO maybe in the future, you will see them lookin a little... different? Animation 2020 Birdisjell 2020-12-28 | I realized that I've actually done a lot more animating this year than I thought, so... I figured I would put all of it in a video! :D π Most of it is a little silly and simple stuff, but I hope you enjoy seeing it anyway~ πThe music is Pine Street by Reed Mathis~ β€ I didn't include any of the music from the MAP parts because... uh... most of these animations didn't have any audio, and it sounded very weird and off to me while editing to have MAP part audio randomly cutting in~ XnX So... yeah. End of the Earth Warriors OC MAP part 23 Birdisjell 2020-12-07 | *Oh alsdkfjkl, I forgot, uhhhh context context, um - after a long journey away, Shimmerwish finally finds herself in her home territory~ β€After a couple months of sporadic working and several days straight of slaving away at this, I'm finally done with my third map part! :D β€ Have that and a silly little process video to go with it~I... I kinda went ham on it. OwO" Bunch a' stuff I wish I had done better, but overall I'm really happy with how it came out~ β€All I really want to know is if I improved from the last ones, haha, and if I did I'll be satisfied~ :'DSo like... the audio that I animated the original part to has been blocked in the actual map call~ O_O So, all the stuff you're hearing right now is not going to be in the final map, haha~ What we're planning on doing is using a cover, but we'll see what happens! β€ I might upload another video later with the actual audio we end up using, we'll see~ β€So yeah! C: β€Most of the music you hear in the video is "There Are Chirping Birdies in My Soul" by Reed Mathis, which funnily enough, I just picked because I liked how it sounded, so the title and my name is pure coincidence~ :'D β€That being said... Which is really disappointing. I will be leaving the original description unedited and both of these videos up purely for archival purposes, but for future viewers please be mindful.
