DarWin 2025-06-01 | DarWin began recording the first album “Origin of Species” in 2015 at Simon’s legendary Phantom Recordings studio in Sherman Oaks, California. With Simon providing an ideal recording environment, various friends around the area were contacted to join the sessions, and the songs grew to include string quartets, wind instruments and even an orchestra for some of the songs. Cosmic Rays was one of the first songs recorded. It was a spiritual journey, considering the big questions about our human relationship with the universe. DarWin and Simon wanted the guitar solo to represent that yearning for truth, reaching for the stars while we can, before the stars come back to reclaim us.
