Romans 12:11-13 (MSG)
13 Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.

How do we keep the fire of God, the gift of God stirred up?

2 And everyone in distress or in debt or discontented gathered to him, and he became a commander over them. And there were with him about 400 men.
Distress- anguish; confinement; disability.
Debt- lack; to be deceived; to be seduced; led astray
Discontented- bitter; angry; vexed
Cave of Adullum- justice of the people.

Courageous men from the Gadites came over to David in the stronghold in the wilderness, men trained for war, who could handle shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and who were swift as gazelles on the mountains.

11 This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. 25 If we [claim to] live by the [Holy] Spirit, we must also walk by the Spirit [with personal integrity, godly character, and moral courage—our conduct empowered by the Holy Spirit].
