1. Wallpaper Atlanta (Commercials starting here are from an unknown date in January. The music here towards the end sounds a bit like an unused track from Donkey Kong Country or something)

5. "Star Trek" End Credits (The "gasless days" mentioned was a policy enacted in New Zealand in response to the 1979 oil crisis known there as "carless days". This prohibited people from driving on a self-designated day of the week to reduce overall oil consumption. The Emergency Energy Conservation Act had been passed in 1979 which provided the mechanism for federal gas rationing...similar to what the U.S. government had done during WWII, but it was never implemented during Jimmy Carter's term in office)

Bert Lance corruption trial (Lance was a banker based out of Georgia who served as Carter's first OMB director before resigning in September of 1977 over a corruption scandal regarding his time serving as chairman of the First National Bank of Georgia. He was ultimately cleared of all charges in this trial)

d. U.S. and Panama deny that they have detained exiled Shah of Iran (The last Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi had been exiled following the 1979 revolution in Iran and lived on Contadora Island in Panama for three months while receiving treatment for cancer. He fled to Egypt in March of 1980 where he was granted asylum and later died of cancer there that July)

Earthquake in California (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_Livermore_earthquake This 5.8 earthquake was centered near Livermore, CA and caused mainly non-structural damage and injuries related to broken glass. Damages sustained at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory were estimated at $10 Million. There was an additional 5.3 aftershock two days later which also caused non-structural damage around Livermore)
b. House votes to cancel or transfer 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow (This was done to protest the 1979 invasion of Afghanistan. The boycott was joined by over 60 countries. The Soviet Bloc countries later retaliated by boycotting the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles)
