Panel mount blocks are a great way to mount panels either flush with the profile or on the profile surface. They provide stability while reducing vibration. There are slide-in and drop-in styles, and available in aluminum or nylon.

Today we are going to take a look at door track. This door track allows panels to be used as sliding doors, and can be cut to any length. They are easy to install, available in both fractional and metric, and are compatible across a wide range of profile series. Now the great thing about door track is that it requires no machining and no hardware. Now the door track comes in two parts. You have your top portion, and you have your bottom portion. Now to ensure your panel slides smoothly, there is a little bit of a difference between these two. If you put them side-by-side, you can see that the bottom portion has a little bit of a bump at the bottom of the track. That’s going to allow it to slide smoothly. Now when it comes to installing it, we’ll grab our frame, we’re going to start with the top portion. We’ll put it right into the open T-slot, and we’ll hammer it right in. Once we have that in there, we’ll flip our frame, and we’ll start in on our bottom portion. We’ll get it into the open T-slot and do the same thing, we’ll hammer it right in. Now once you have all that in there, take your panel and put it into the top track first, and then into the bottom track, and then your panel can slide freely. Today were going take a look at panel mount blocks. These connectors allow you to firmly mount panels onto the profiles. Theyre easy to install, available in both fractional and metric, and compatible across a wide range of profile series. Now one thing youll want to keep in mind is your panel is going to need a drill-through service to attach it to the block. Youll also need a bolt, to secure your panel to the blot as well. Now when it comes to installing the panel mount block, the first thing youll want to decide is how its going to mount to the profile. Do you want it to be flush with the profile edge, or resting on the surface of the profile. Now in our example, were going to rest it on the surface of the profile. So well take our panel mounting block, well go ahead and slide it into the open T-slot. Find the location we want, and tighten it down with our wrench. From there well take our panel, line it up with our block, and feed the bolt through. Well go ahead and hand-tighten that down, and then well finish it off with our wrench.
