Wagner Leitmotifs | 8 Siren's Hymn : Tannhäuser @wagnerleitmotifs7654 | Uploaded July 2014 | Updated October 2024, 13 hours ago.
This leitmotif is first heard in act 1 scene 1.

This is the haunting call of the sirens, women who would draw sailors to their deaths on the rocks by the beauty of their voices. They sing "Naht euch dem Strande! Naht euh dem Lande!" ("Draw near to the shore! Draw near to the Land!")
