Modern Warfare II

S0ur 2022-10-16 | Discussing the upcoming Modern Warfare II, but not really, actually discussing me not discussing it. It ain't that serious, but as more MWII questions came in I felt I should recap my thoughts about not repeating the standard yearly coverage. Sorry if the negativity isn't what you want to hear, it's not really what I like to do either, hence my mostly just staying out of it.

Mainly, it's just a combination of not enjoying many things about the direction of the games, some totally natural franchise coverage burnout, and re-evaluating what I enjoy about making videos and what the goal even is. With all that, I couldn't realistically repeat the same tired types of CoD cycle videos without either being fake or excessively negative and whiney, which isn't fun or anything to feel proud of. Much better to take a step back and focus on some other things, as well as more occasional but more positive and fun projects.

The First CoD’s Expansion is EVEN HARDER (Veteran United Offensive)

I got the Atomic camo, for some reason

S0ur 2022-01-14 | I've earned Vanguard's atomic mastery camo, but at what cost? Aside from a quick showcase and tips for the 'fixed' Panzerfaust, this'll be a mental dump all about Vanguard and the state of CoD. Starting with a brief review and my initial positivity towards the game, then the downward spiral of Season 1's gameplay and Warzone's issues, and then into my personal contention with the unaddressed XP inconsistency or 'throttling' - feeling symbolic of the engagement-optimized path recent CoDs appear to have chosen over fun. When taken too far, it's an oppressive feeling that supersedes whatever may be good or bad about the gameplay itself, since when the game feels it has no purpose or goal, either in self-improvement or challenge/progression wise, then it appears structured more as an artificial chore and a store than a game.

So, that all leads into a self-reflective ramble contemplating how I can continue covering the franchise - a ramble I hate to make and be all dramatic about, but unfortunately I feel is necessary to express; all I can do is try to be honest. I've always enjoyed mostly sticking with the same thing, and I've always respected that it's what most people have come here for, but it both feels as though that's less and less the case as more and more people become disillusioned with where the franchise has headed, and I've simply run out of topics that I think make sense to cover in my style as the game grows apart. What can I sincerely cover in Vanguard, when it feels hypocritical to expect anyone to care about testing minutia in a game that I've just described as lacking any aspirational purpose.

With Atomic, I feel I've completed the one true objective laid out, despite what feel like attempts for it to be slowed down, and I did my best to guide other people to it with breakdowns along the way. So, this feels like it serves as a conclusion.

I don't fundamentally hate CoD's gameplay, and could always see checking in to discuss the current games, but I have no real plans for the channel currently. This has always been more of a casual hobby, where I find fun in sharing fun stuff with others; forcing it to chase numbers being the opposite. I apologize to any who have started to develop certain expectations.

Thoughts always change with time, but here's a window into the present.

The 141 attempts one of Vanguard’s hardest challenges

S0ur 2022-01-02 | I've assembled our clan to work towards one of Vanguards toughest career challenges: detonate the bomb in Search and Destroy 25 times. It may sound innocent, but involves a frustrating amount of luck solo, both in getting and planting the bomb, then having your team not eliminate the enemy team while you stall & distract enemies from defusing.

That's where a team comes in - eliminating the luck element of team balance by helping with the plant but leaving the last guy alive, making this a funny thing to try. I hope you find our attempts enlightening.

Warzone Caldera Weapon XP Guide (+Bug)

S0ur 2021-12-11 | With the launch of Warzone Pacific's Caldera map, I wanted to look into the main methods of earning fast weapon XP to rank up your weapons through Plunder, for anyone who doesn't own Vanguard or who prefers these methods.

Vanguard: The Decoy Grenade XP Meta?

Vanguard: Shipment Weapon XP Problems, Operators Fixed?

S0ur 2021-11-20 | After checking on the Nov. 18th fix for the Operator favorite weapon buff, as well as if you can stack 2XP tokens with the double XP event, I'll be investigating the big Vanguard weapon XP mystery: why does Shipment double weapon XP feel slower than it should? Is the XP nerfed? Is it really double? Well, yes, but actually no. It turns out there's no simple answer to those questions, but there's clearly something going very wrong with the weapon XP tracking in this game after all, it just seemed to take gaining XP more rapidly for it to reveal itself.

Fastest Vanguard Weapon XP: All Modes Tested

I'll be going through the basics of earning weapon XP, then how much you get per kill in every multiplayer mode and combat pacing so you can decide on your best mode for fast weapon XP based on how many kills you personally tend to get, and then I'll be going the weapon XP/minute rates I was typically getting in Multiplayer versus Zombies and Warzone. S0ur 2021-05-20 | Cold War & Warzone Season 3 Reloaded is here with the 80’s Action Heroes, adding the Die Hard Nakatomi plaza and Rambo survival camps to Warzone, among other themed event modes, challenges, and changes. Standoff and Duga is here for MP, Outbreak gets a main quest, Ordas, and fishing apparently, and it’s a truly massive update for weapon balancing. Mainly though, I wanted to skip past that to cover my specialty, the “new challenges, medals, and rewards” mentioned on the roadmap. Namely, the new medals added in the event - Become War, This is Personal, Have a Blast, and Light 'em Up. Maybe others, but they're not used in the challenges.

And actually, this video is just a disguised rant about the phonetic alphabet codename weapons that they’ve inexplicably used for a year and a half now. AsSAuLt RiFLe cHaRLiE. Why on earth was that brainless practice carried forward from Modern Warfare? The warzone weapon list is a mess, and being cutesy slipping them into patch notes nonsensically makes me want to barf.

Black Ops Cold War: Season 3 Content Overview & Thoughts

S0ur 2021-04-23 | Season 3 of Black Ops Cold War & Warzone is here, kicking off with the bang of Verdansk being destroyed, ushering in Verdansk '84 as the new Warzone map. I'll briefly touch on that destruction event split into part 1 & 2 and the new Warzone thoughts, then get into Cold War's updates: the 6 new weapons like the beloved PPSh-41 and ballistic knife, the new maps like the return of Standoff in-season, modes like Sticks & Stones, and plenty more. Maxing My 15 Year Old RuneScape Account

S0ur 2021-04-04 | After nearly 15 years of periodically checking in on RuneScape, I've finally maxed (every skill to 99) my old account I made back in 2006, and felt like telling the story. Starting in those early old school free to play days through 2007 & 8, letting it slide for many years, then returning as a member at last to rediscover the massive historic world and how it had changed in my absence. With how much I talk about grind and completionism, it should come as no surprise that I'd be drawn to this nostalgic MMORPG.

I'll go on to talk a bit about OSRS, other thoughts on the game as a sort of positively biased 2021 review, and what's next. This may not exactly be on topic for the channel, but I'm glad I got to make it regardless as an homage to such an impactful formative game of my and so many people's childhoods.

Cold War Zombies: Earning Flawless Crystals, Best Upgrades & Outbreak XP

S0ur 2021-03-01 | Time to explore the best ways to earn the new Refined & Flawless aetherium crystals in Black Ops Cold War Zombies. I'll compare the new Outbreak mode to traditional wave survival when it comes to farming crystals, then discuss the best new tier 4 & 5 upgrades for all the weapons, perks, field upgrades, and ammo mods. Black Ops Cold War: Season 2 Content, Challenges & Thoughts

S0ur 2021-02-25 | Season 2 of Black Ops Cold War & Warzone is here, with all the new prestiges and challenges to grind and plenty of content to discuss. I'll touch on the new progression, battle pass, and 6 new weapons, the big new Zombies Outbreak mode and event, then take a look through the new seasonal challenges, before ending with some of what's new for Multiplayer maps & modes and giving some thoughts on everything.

Outbreak is the clear highlight to me, along with tons of new Zombies progression in the form of tier 4 and 5 skills, taking refined and flawless aetherium crystals. I'd like to get more into how to earn them and take a deeper look at the mode after getting more playtime.

Black Ops Cold War: Progression System Review

S0ur 2021-02-05 | With the Black Ops Cold War & Warzone season 1 coming to a close, here's another look at all the progression systems we talked about leading up to launch and s1, as I play through Firebase Z for the first time in the background. Now after plenty of playtime, I can go through what I've liked and thought about the updated seasonal levelling, prestiges, challenges, the missing concept of 100 percenter, dailies, prestige keys, ribbon stars, and how it's affected by what I'm feeling about the gameplay in general.

There have been many improvements to the seasonal system, but I think more could be done to create a focus around one ultimate goal to get me engaged in the challenge hunt. As it stands, I'm not drawn towards the MP whatsoever but the current system, but will enjoy the camo grind and whatever Zombies has to offer.

Black Ops Cold War: Zombies Armor Barrels & DPS Testing Stuff

S0ur 2021-01-12 | I felt like testing out a couple more undescriptive or confusing attachments in Black Ops Cold War Zombies, like the armor damage Cavalry Lancer barrels & weird Hauer Task Force barrel, as well as going over some basic megaton DPS rankings to see what the best weapons and strategies are for miniboss damage. I'll also touch on the best elemental ammo type and some other minor tips & tricks like not getting stuck with Dead Wire. Just a fun mix of zombies testing and mythbusting, because numbers are fun.
