Matthew BeckhamWasn't happy with my first attempt at covering this song. Re-mixed, re-mastered, added lead guitars and improved upon my rhythm tones(I think?), just to name a few changes. Think it sounds a bit better now.
Went ahead and made a video for it as well. Wanted to experiment a little bit, try to make it a little more visually interesting.

For whatever reason we had a lot of the old Godzilla films on vhs tapes when I was young, and we would watch them all the time. I've been watching them again more recently, and find I still quite enjoy them; they remind me of my youth of course, but the poor dubbing, absurd plots, and charming effects/miniatures still make for an entertaining watch. It also reminded me of this game, which I also played a lot as a kid, and its great ost, so I had to cover my favorite track.

So as I occasionally do, I decided to re make it and see if I could do a better job. Its always kind of interesting to see how/if you've improved over the years.
While I'm not completely happy with it (never am :)) I think its a bit better, and thats good enough for me.
I don't really know anything about the Guilty Gear games except that they have some great tunes but I noticed the art work is always red and blue, so I tried to do something a little different with the video. I just hope the switching back and forth between red and blue isn't annoying/jarring to some people.
Who knows, maybe Holy Orders will get a re-make as well sometime, that song definitely deserves it.

Finally finished it and shot a video for it. My initial plan was to do the vocals with guitars, but it didn't sound/seem quite right to me so I left it as just the original instrumental track, which of course means you can more easily SING ALONGGG!
Since I can't make actual covers at the moment, I figured I would just make a little video playing the riffs and throw some tabs up for anyone who might want to learn them.
I only bothered doing these four because they are used the most in the show, and they are actual riffs. Some of the others are simply whammy bar stuff, or just pinch harmonics, etc, stuff not worth tabbing/showing how to play.

Got a request a while back to do something from Attack on Titan, and since I didn't really want to do the opening I decided to do the "main theme" of the show, Wings of Freedom.
I've decided that I'm going to stop filming my covers, at least for a while. I've always hated the filming/editing aspect of doing these, it makes them take so much longer and has nothing to do with the quality of the music I make, which is the most important part.
As of this cover, I'm using brand new tones(new amp sim), new video editing software, and VSTs. Trying to wrap my head around just one of these is always a nightmare, so doing 3 or so is just...well, a worse nightmare lol.
So I'm going to be using the time I would normally spend filming/editing learning to use all of these new things and really trying to improve the sound of my covers. It will probably be a while (like usual) before I'm happy with my new tones/sounds/etc. I may be able to pump out covers a bit faster now as well, we'll see!
Future "videos" probably won't be so nauseating, was having fun with the new software and got carried away trying new things.
Castlevania 3 has so many great tracks! Beginning, Aquarius, Stream, etc etc. I think Mad Forest might be my favorite though, so figured I'd give it a shot for Halloween.
Castlevania is hard. And so are its songs! Had to simplify a few parts so I could actually play them, but overall happy with how this turned out.

This is probably my, and most people's, favorite track from the game. I've put off doing any Turok covers for a long time now, have always been intimidated by the percussion-based tracks and how I would pull them off with a guitar/metal style. Finally decided to give it a shot.
So, what else. Something something tried some new things bla blah bla mixing everything yada yada and etc. Think that about sums up what I usually say.
Think that about covers it. Tried some new things as far as mixing goes...and as usual, I don't know if I think its an improvement or not. I'm sure I'll go "wtf was I thinking" the next time I listen to this lol
Just something I thought would be a fun little break from the usual, FF Brave Exvius Duel Theme is next.

It started off as the Intro music from Red/Blue, but after wasting a day arranging that, I realized it sucked and promptly deleted it. Then I decided to do the Final Battle music, and after recording everything I realized I didn't like most of the leads. So i deleted those as well. Instead of deleting the whole thing, I decided to keep the rhythms/bass and do all the leads with orchestral stuff. When that was done, the guitarist in me wanted leads back in, so I re-did all of those. At some point I said I was done, and here we are. Wasn't that a great story?
Kinda like having the orchestra stuff be more prominent for a change. I'm not very good at orchestration, and my VSTs are garbage, but I might try and do more covers like this.
**Holy shit, how did I miss that wonky string thing at the end lol, oh well
Even though I haven't listened to his in years, every note/the way he plays every part it still in my head, so I had to just ignore that and try to do it how I would do it. Sooo...there it is.
I highly recommend vertexguy's version, if you haven't heard it, go listen to it. Might be one of the best VG metal covers ever.
The Battle theme and Saitama's theme from OPM hold a very special place in my heart, so I wanted to take a little more time than I usually would to try and make these as good as I possibly can.
So, as I've already said, I'll be re-doing Saitama's theme next, and then back to the regular schedule of new stuff. Thanks go out to my brother for wasting his time filming all of this for me and uhhh..One Punch Man for being good.
Wish I could find more on who wrote/performed this, best I could find is multiple sources saying an audio/music company called T's music made it. Couldn't find out who the guitar player was or any more info about them.
Trying to figure out who to credit for songs like this is kinda funny...Koji Kondo did the music for the original game, and then theres a whole slew of people who worked on the music for Brawl, and one of or some of them made this arrangement soo...I guess its the usual "list everyone" method this time
Original Composers: Takahiro Nishi, Shogo Sakai, Masaaki Iwasaki, Yutaka Iraha, Keigo Ozaki, Kentaro Ishizaka, Koji Kondo
Wanted to cover this simply because there aren't many covers of it...and castlevania is cool so, theres that. I'll try and cover something other humans might actually want to listen to for next time :)
