During my visit, I was illegally detained and searched by (former) Captain Edward Bernat (badge #90) and (former) Sergeant Jeffrey Tolliver (badge #737). Since then, DC Office of Police Complaints and Internal Affairs investigations were completed, Bernat and Tolliver are both no longer employed by MPD, the civil complaint was settled, and the District Attorney’s office refused to provide an arrest warrant.
