Using the Unity game engine, I made a Call of Duty game from scratch and had it work over a server to play online against your friends. My girlfriend wanted to play me at one of my games so I made this FPS and challenged her to a match. Can I win against her?

I made this game with the Unity game engine. I also used Quicktime Player, Audacity, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop to record and edit this video.
I made this game in about 1.5 weeks. The hardest part was understanding multiplayer and I used Mirror to help with that. Every action a player does has to be sent to a server and then sent back to all the clients so they all have the actions "mirrored" back to them.
I had a lot of fun building a map and adding extra features like explosions and a flamethrower. Once I was done the game, I hosted it on my laptop and played against my girlfriend to see who would win a match.

And there's a catch - for every day it takes me to make this scary game, I'm doubling a charity donation to the ASPCA!
I made this game using the Unity game engine, and used Filmage Screen, Audacity, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop to record and edit this video. My microphone is the AT2020USB+.
In this very spooky Pokemon Horror game, you'll need to outrun Pokemon like Pikachu, Charmander, Mewtwo, Cubone, and more in a haunted forest. Your task is to catch them with Pokeballs, but if they catch you first, you die! For every day it takes me to make the game, I'll be doubling a charity donation to the ASPCA to help animals in need!
Next time, I'll add that creepy Gengar model to my game.

I created this bot using the ChatGPT language model by OpenAI and the Reddit API. It's built in Unity and coded in C#. I also used Quicktime Player, Audacity, Premiere Pro, After Effects to record and edit this video. My microphone is an AT2020USB+.

The game has cool superheroes (and a villain depending who you ask!) including Spider-Man, Batman, Iron Man, Superman, the Hulk, and the Joker. They can all fight against each other in lots of different stages and they each have their own unique abilities. There's more... I made a tournament bracket and had them all play against each other to figure out the champion of Marvel vs. DC!

Since I can't get a PS5 console, I decided to make my own Spider-Man game. It features a city, web swinging, climbing buildings, running, jumping, free falling, and a full mission featuring Green Goblin. I even made the Pumpkin Bombs and Spider-Man's healthy system. Obviously it's not as big as the PS5 game but for a team of just me, it came out really cool.
Next time, I'll add Venom with an ice cream cone as a villain.

#Unity #MarioParty #NintendoI Remade the Worlds Worst Game but BetterTyler Green2021-06-23 | E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is widely considered to be the worst game ever made so I challenged myself to remake it into a game that's actually good.
Thanks to Bread Stream for the phone piece models. Check out their Twitter: twitter.com/BreadyLbp
Although there's a lot of debate over what's the worst game of all time, many articles and lists point towards the 1982 Atari game: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. I know the game was rushed and it's an older game but this video was more an experiment to see if I could improve a game that has a lot of issues while still staying true to the original game.

I'd never entered a game jam before and decided to enter the Brackeys Game Jam 2021.1. I paired up with a fellow dev, tutmo, and we worked together to make a game in a week. We spent most of the first day trying to come up with an idea and then spent several days coding and building out the game.
It was a great experience joining the jam and working with someone else on the game. We ended up finishing #87 overall out of almost 1900 submissions so definitely not bad to finish in the top 5% for my first game jam.

Minecraft has been made a lot by other Unity game devs but basically I made chunks using voxels and Perlin noise so it creates random terrain. Then I grouped a bunch of those chunks together so it creates an endless terrain effect and it loads/unloads the chunks as you move closer and further away. Then whenever I destroy and add a block, I just reload the chunk and redraw the mesh. Throw in some mobs who move towards the player and jump when a block is in the way, add a health and inventory system, and... boom! I have Minecraft. Or my own weird variation of it.

#unity3D #minecraft #devlogI Made a Grand Theft Auto Game in 1 WeekTyler Green2021-01-10 | Can I make a Grand Theft Auto game, from scratch, in one week?
Using the Unity game engine, I'm going to make a GTA game in just 7 days. Also, to call it a GTA game, my game needs to have the following: 1) A city with pedestrians you can violently attack, 2) Cars you can steal, and 3) A wanted system with police.
If you liked this video, consider subscribing (it's free!) so you won't miss my future videos!
I made this game with the Unity game engine. I also used Quicktime Player, Audacity, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop to record and edit this video.
To make sure I could do this in a week, I planned out in advance roughly how much work I thought it'd be and how much I could realistically do each day. Since I work a day job, I knew my busiest days would be the days I had off. I found a lot of great, free 3D models for the buildings, people, and cars. I don't think I could've made this game in time without them.
This game wasn't too complicated in terms of coding. The only tricky parts were realizing Unity ragdolls act strange when they have colliders on them and creating a smart enough wanted system so you'd lose stars if you avoid the police. Shooting and pathfinding mechanics I just took from my robot game.
This is also my first time using the AT2020+ mic. Let me know if my voice sounds clearer than my older videos!
#unity #gta #devlogI Challenged an AI to Beat Me at my Own Game!Tyler Green2020-12-12 | Using machine learning, I set out a goal to make a game and train an AI to get so good, it'd beat me at my own game.
If you liked this video, consider subscribing (it's free!) so you won't miss my future videos!
I made this game with the Unity game engine. I also used Quicktime Player, Audacity, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop to record and edit this video.
This game itself wasn't too complicated to make but it was my first time training an AI with machine learning. I used Unity's ml-agents (github.com/Unity-Technologies/ml-agents) to help train it to become better. It's really important to feed the AI useful observations (distance from walls, wall velocity, etc.) to speed up the training. I learnt that the hard way after sitting around for 2 hours with little results. Next time, I'd like to try training an even more complex game.
I actually recorded a longer version of the machine learning song that plays at the end of the video. Maybe one day it'll see the light of day...
#unity #machinelearning #devlogI Made Angry Birds but its 3DTyler Green2020-11-28 | I took the original 2D Angry Birds game and upgraded it to 3D! Now you can diabolically fling a bird into walls in all 3 dimensions....

I made this game mainly with the Unity game engine and Blender for my 3D models. I also used Quicktime Player, Audacity, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop to record and edit this video.
The trickiest parts of this game were getting the slingshot to work and reloading the slingshot with a new bird when you didn't succeed on your first try. For the former, it took a decent amount of playing around with spring joints (I recommend Brackeys tutorial on making 2D Angry Birds). As for the reloading, this was just getting the code right to iterate through a list and reset the slingshot with a new bird if one still remained to be added.

I started off by playing around with Unity's built-in pathfinding AI and from there added robots that would chase me. I eventually gave myself a gun and gave them rockets they could fire at me. I made a donut the objective to get to the next level and created several levels including a final boss. My record speed run time was 4:44, can you beat it?
