In March and April of 2011, Professor Paul Connett visited and traveled in Australia and New Zealand to bring attention to his book, "The Case Against Fluoride," and to bring his message about fluoride to the authorities and citizens of those two countries. Unfortunately, Paul, as usual, has been ostracized by the very health officials whose job it is to protect the public from policies such as fluoridation that are no longer in the interest of public health. In fact, he was denied the opportunity to make a presentation to students on the campus of the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. Neither the dean of the Dental School or the dean of the School of Medical Sciences would allow Dr. Connett to speak on campus (the school's unfortunate moto is "Dare to be wise"). Through the efforts of Professor, Dr. Bruce Spittle in Dunedin, Paul finally made his presentation at a public venue before 60 people on April 10th.
While in the region of western Australia, Paul was interviewed by James Lush of the Australian Broadcasting System at 720 ABC in Perth. Lush is the host and presenter of the popular weekend variety talk show, Saturday Breakfast.
Formerly with the BBC in Great Britain, for the past three years James has presented almost every show on 720 ABC at least once! 720 ABC Perth, broadcasts high quality, relevant and entertaining radio programs to the Perth metro area, reflecting the issues, opinions and concerns of a well-informed Western Australian audience.
"I'm passionate about Radio," says Lush. "I love the speed, the variety and the immediacy! Plus being inquisitive and nosey it's a perfect job! I get to ask questions that would often seem a little close to the bone if they were asked in a different "non-work" setting! Ask it politely, with a smile and a twinkle in the eye and it's amazing the response that you get!
