TheTrendy | 7 Little Johnstons: Strict Rules The Kids Must Follow @TheTrendy | Uploaded March 2022 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
The Johnston’s may give their kids tough love, but they tend to show more toughness than love.
The Johnston children have “old school” manners that we don’t see in most kids these days. Like the constant use of “ma’am” and “sir.” On top of teaching their kids what hard work is and preparing them for the tough real world, Trent and Amber have ensured that their kids are respectful. The 5 siblings address their elders as “Ma’am” and “sir” and have been seen in more recent seasons, as they become young adults, to keep that same form of respect. “We raise our kids with traditional morals and discipline," Trent told Southern Living. He also touched on the difference between strict and rude and strict and disciplined, after later saying he and Ambers parenting style is strict and disciplined. As for Amber, she said their children are required to respect their elders, each other and themselves. Their kids really don’t mind it and since they had to say it since they were little it’s routine now. Jonah, the oldest Johnston kid, said that people remember their use of “ma’am and sir” and it gets them further in the long run.
What do you think about the Johnston’s rules they have to follow? Are Amber and Trent too overbearing? Let us know in the comments and don’t forget to subscribe to The Things Reality!
