BioLegend develops world-class, cutting-edge antibodies and reagents for biomedical research. Manufactured and distributed from their state-of-the-art facility in San Diego, California, BioLegend needed a better inventory storage and retrieval system that would not only help them continue to provide superior quality to their customers but also operate in the necessary cold environment.
Working with Bastian Solutions, BioLegend’s newly integrated system features OPEX Perfect Pick HD, a custom designed picking workstation, Kardex VLM (Vertical Lift Module), Bastian Solutions Conveyor, Intralox sorter, a put to light system, pallet racking, and is supported by Exacta’s WES (warehouse execution system) intralogistics software.
“We run order fulfillment on demand. Anytime a customer calls whether it’s 2 pm or 10am, we [can] fill their order the same day,” said Andrew Walter, BioLegend Warehouse and Logistics Manager.
BioLegend’s throughput has increased by 6Xs and their capacity has grown by 75%.
