Summary of MCU Timeline - Makes Sense Now!

FRiDAY 2024-10-09 | The massive scope of the MCU has allowed Marvel Studios to create a sprawling, interconnected universe built on a shared continuity, and much like the comics the movies are based on, that means things can get pretty complicated.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn't start with Tony Stark getting kidnapped in 2008, Carol Danvers being taken to Hala in the '90s, or even with Steve Rogers volunteering for the Super Soldier program in the '40s. Instead, like most universes, this one starts at the Big Bang.

Going chronologically, the first event we see in the MCU is the creation of the Infinity Stones. As the Collector explains in Guardians of the Galaxy, they were formed from the "six singularities" that caused the universe to explode into existence, before being scattered across the universe.

That, of course, was billions of years ago, but "millions of years" before we get to the present-day MCU, Ego the Living Planet comes into existence and starts seeding worlds with his essence in an attempt to create another Celestial being like himself.

"The only way I could top 100 places of dance was to bring in friends, family, and strangers. Filming this video was one of the craziest experiences I have ever had in my life. It took 2 months of filming and a month and a half was spent living out on the road driving all around the USA and Canada, I drove a little over 10,000 miles. This video was incredibly difficult to film and edit, so hopefully people find a little enjoyment out of this. Huge thanks to everyone that danced with me and helped film the video. Meet so many amazing people, got to see so many friends, it was an experience of a life time.

Welcome to my latest directorial effort for PepsiCo’s 2016 Chinese New Year campaign, “Bring Happiness Home: The Monkey King Family”. It is an honour to helm this film that is planted at the confluence of three cultural icons: the protagonist of “Journey to the West”, the family who has portrayed him for four generations, and a global brand like Pepsi Cola. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Danielle Jin, CMO of PepsiCo beverages, and her brand team, my business partner Alex Xie and our intrepid Team PepsiCo at CIVILIZATION Shanghai, scriptwriter Miya Wang, and producer extraordinaire Didi Xu.

2016 is the Year of the Monkey. So there will no doubt be a bevy of marketing campaigns showcasing the Monkey King or “Journey to the West”. How can PepsiCo’s “Bring Happiness Home” celebrate the Monkey King, this mythological simian symbol of irreverence and fun (personality traits rarely found in the heroes of traditional Chinese literature), in a very PepsiCo manner? FRiDAY 2015-12-19 | Sir Nicholas Winton organised the rescue and passage to Britain of about 669 mostly Jewish Czechoslovakian children destined for the Nazi death camps before World War II in an operation known as the Czech Kindertransport. After the war, his efforts remained unknown — until his wife found a scrapbook with a complete list of names with photos of the children he saved. He has since died at the age of 106 in 2015.

FRiDAY 2015-12-10 | Company Gives 500 Packets of Chicken Rice to Foreign Workers. Guess Who Delivered Them.

Foreign workers have dreams, interests and loved ones to provide for back home. But few of us take the time and effort to truly understand what they’re going through. They build our roads, homes, and keep our city in working order; yet face constant discrimination every day.

To overturn this social stigma, Select and Stamford Catering started an initiative in collaboration with the SG50 Committee. 500 packets of chicken rice and gifts were distributed to a dormitory of foreign workers in a show of gratitude, thanking them for all the sacrifices they’ve made for our country.

They then chose to use school children as the ones to deliver these packets, to help shape the perception our youth have of foreign workers. A group of schoolboys, aged between 9 - 12, facilitated this outreach by spending a full day getting to know our foreign friends over traditional games like chapteh.
