Schreib Tisch 2023-08-30 | Just because so many people were confused with seeing the emergency hazards came on in one of my videos. Here is a short demonstration to show how they work. The hazards are flashing as soon as one brakes a bit harder.

EU-spec cars have this feature since almost a decade, but it has become mandatory for all new cars since 2022.

In Europe under hard braking by law either the hazard flashers or brake lights flash at a rapid pace, then keep the brake lights on steady and turn on the standard hazard flashers once the vehicle comes to a complete stop.

By EU standards, the emergency flashing lights under hard braking are activated when the braking force is greater than 6m/s2 for passenger vehicles. I came across an emergency braking situation on the interstate where a deer popped in front of the person in front of me. Their BMW activated the brake lights, but also turned on the rear fog lamp as an emergency braking light in a feature called Brake Force Display.

Driver of the VW Golf was using her phone and completely distracted

Very close call at 208 km/h (130 mph) on the german Autobahn. Near collision was recorded with a dashcam. Gauge was recorded because of a fuel consumption video. Cars did not make any contact, so no accident/crash happened.
