The Impromptu challenge, hosted at www.zeldaspeedruns.com had their 3rd monthly impromptu challenge; that is, be given a random goal and complete it as fast as possible.
You don't know the goal until you start. The goal in this impromtu speedrun is to buy out all the bombchus in the bombchu market then talk to Saria with the name 'SOLD'.
I complete the challenge in about an hour and 15 minutes (1:15)
Savewarps, Deathwarps, and any glitches besides CC are allowed.
This run was played on the N64 obviously.

Nearly 2 years later since my first Golden Rod WR, I finally get a time I am happy with!
With the help of the increasing AC Speedrunning community, a new strat was discovered by Zoekay to catch the Piranha. Its behavior is different than most other fish where it will go after the bait regardless if it is front of the fish. The Bluegill also has this behavior so it was still rare to find the Piranha in June. However, right before this run, I thought of a strat to get the Piranha in September night and it works perfectly! With the combination of incredible luck and a complete knowledge of AC fish, I was able to get a time of 1:16:33. Best of luck to any runners who attempt to beat this time.

After playing this game again, I decided my next wr goal was to get insanely fast times in time attack mode.
There are many aspects to maxing this score. The main ones are when to prep the jump boost, when to activate the propeller, and how close you hug the walls.
This record implements almost every trick to maxing out a score.
This game runs at 30 fps, therefore hundredths of seconds are broken up into groups of 3 and 4. so if youre 4 behind, youre one frame behind. This can be seen in the video.
Obviously this isnt the absolute best possible score. With this strat, I believe 4 or 5 frames could be shaved. Though thats an absolutely perfect run.
Even with TAS type playing, with this strat, I dont believe sub 28 exists. Im going to experiment around and see if I can find a better time to activate the propeller.
Regardless, this beat the previous wr by over a second.
